Is it posible to force Windows 2000 to send print job name?
Hi, I need to log print job's. But Windows 2000 send me only 'Remote Downlevel Document' as a job name (%J macro in print command). (I don't have other Windows system versions to test it there, but from Linux}smbspool command) it works fine - job name is "Remote Downlevel Document + job name"). Is there any possibility how to force (or get) print job name from Windows

Remote Downlevel Document Hangs in XP Pro Print Queue
I used SAMBA, CUPS, hplip, and linuxprinting.org documentation to made all configuration changes necessary to successfully print from FC3 print server using samba-3.0.10-1.fc3 for a HP PSC 1350 SAMBA windoww share on a XPPro SP2 PC. I created the FC3 print queue using the CUPS web interface->Device=Windows Printer via

Problem with job removal
Hi, We've been stuck with this problem for a while now and we believe I tried enough potential solutions to justify my posting here. We're using samba 3.0.14a in Sarge in order to allow printing from Windows workstations (The authentication works with AD+Kerberos+Winbind) to a set of shared printers. Printing works perfectly but we would like to allow users to have control over the jobs

Homedrive mapping
Hello everyone, We are making extensive use of the homedrive mapping fields in AD. (automagically mapping a drive letter to a UNC path without a logon script) Since we sp2 applied to our clients, none of them have been able to map their home drives to our samba servers. According to Microsoft's q-article, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q308580&, "this

Possible bug: file.exists() always returns TRUE for prn.us.txt
Dear all, while preparing some exercises I came across some highly surprising behaviour of file.exists(). The specific value "prn.us.txt" always returns TRUE, even though that file is nowhere to be found on my system. In a fresh R session 3.4.4 installed on Windows 10: > grep("prn.us.txt", dir(recursive = TRUE)) integer(0) > file.exists("prn.us.txt") [1] TRUE

print command, cups, lprng, bsd
Good day. I have a strange problem changing the "print command" from the smb.conf file with different print spooling subsystems specified in the conf file. samba 3.0.4 cups 1.1.20 fedora core 2 If the "printing" option is set to "cups" the "print command" is not executed. If the "printing" option is set to "lprng" or "bsd"

smb mount as root, access as non-root. Changed behaviour between samba 3.0.x and 3.4.x?
Hi List, I have an appliance ("the client") which mounts a CIFS share from a Samba server - the Samba server usually runs on an Ubuntu system. Within the client, the root user executes a mount command like this: mount.cifs \\UBUNTUSERVER\archive /tmp/Default \ -o noserverino,user='someuser',pass='somepassword',uid='50',gid='7' That uid/gid pair
