Pb with 2.0.6/2.0.7 and browsing
Hello,
When my Samba is the local master browser, it doesn't appear in the
Network Neighborhood of the client. There is only the client itself.
When the client (Windows NT 4 Workstation) is the local master, the
Network Neighborhood shows the only two nodes that I have on my test
network, ie the Samba server and the NT 4 Workstation.
For the browsing, I use the default

HELP with browsing and popups (Cont: Get popups)
I've got plenty of messages about "message command". Please don't talk me about
"message command". I have "message command" in my smb.conf. It seems to be
another problem: I can browse all groups in local network but anyone can't
find me in "Network neighboorhood" in Widows 9x.
I can receive popups only from boxes with samba (Linux boxes) and

Problems setting up Samba (nmbd) as multi-subnet router
Hi,
i have a network with one machine acting as master router with
2x4-Port-Ethernet-Cards in it - running nmbd!
There are two Windows-Workgroups, WRK1 and WRK2 in each there are
Windows-Exchange-Servers EX1, EX2. In WRK2 the PDC is on EX2, in WRK1 there
is a standalone PDC, PDC1.
Every network is a full 255 IP-Network.

Samba Weird One
Hello all!
I have a strange one that I really need help with: I have samba p8 running
on SCO Unix openserver 5.0.4. The rest of our network is Windows 95/NT 4.0
with our domain called 'SABINMETAL'. One of the NT workstations (named HELM
with a user called steve) was working, but now it is doing the following:
if steve logs onto the SABINMETAL domain, he cannot get to the Unix server

Two samba's not playing together
Hi,
I just tried to migrate my NT-PDC to samba-3.0.20b. Everything worked
fine except for a problem with my old file-server running samba-2.2.5
with winbind.
I can connect to and use shares on the new PDC and I can manage users
and groups. But when I try to connect to the file-server I'm refused access.
When I prepared this mail, I remarked that in smb.conf I somehow deleted

Multiple IPs and hostname
Hi,
I'm running postfix as SMTP-server and dovecot as IMAP-server.
The server has multiple IPs, and postfix is configured that every domain
is using a separate IPv4-address.
Examle:
foo1.com --> 11.22.33.44
foo2.com --> 22.33.44.55
foo3.com --> 33.44.55.66
bar.org --> 66.77.88.99
The hostname of the server is: mail.bar.org
Now I have a request from one of my customers,

help with SMATR: help with pairwise comparisons using MA regression?
Hi there,
I've been using the SMATR package to do standardized major axis (SMA)
regression on allometric data, and I've been able to to pairwise
comparisons of slope & elevation between multiple study sites.
Now I'm trying to do the same thing using major axis (MA) regression,
but I'm getting errors (SMATR should be able to do MA as well as SMA
regression for everything,

The opposite of "lag"
Hello!
I have a data frame A (below) with a grouping factor (group). I take
my DV and create the new, lagged DV by applying the function lag.it
(below). It works fine.
A <- data.frame(year=rep(c(1980:1984),3), group=
factor(sort(rep(1:3,5))), DV=c(rnorm(15)))
lag.it <- function(x) {
DV <- ts(x$DV, start = x$year[1])
idx <- seq(length = length(DV))

Backslash in sub pattern?
Dear guRus,
I am trying to replace "~" by "$\sim$" for TeX. However, I can't get the
backslash to work. I would like to turn "DV~IV" into "DV$\sim$IV".
sub("~","$\sim$","DV~IV") => "DV$sim$IV"
sub("~","$\\sim$","DV~IV") => "DV$sim$IV"

rodc and KRB_TGS_REQ forwarding to RWDC to access hub ressources
Hi,
As far I know, all this should work as you would expect. Quite recently,
Andrew Bartlett and I went about testing some of the behaviour of the
KDC and confirming behaviour such as RODC ticket forwarding.
The one thing to check would be whether or not Samba is being linked
against system Heimdal. As it stands, there is no real testing of Samba
using system Heimdal and from the testing

Samba share and groups permissions
Hello,
I have a Fedora server, part of a domain, on which various shares are
configured.
For one share, I want to set up permissions according to the groups to
which the users belong. But it doesn't work. For example, I want the
share to be accessible by group A in read-write mode, and group B in
read-only mode. I use setfacl for this. But neither group A nor group B
have access to the

testing two-factor anova effects using model comparison approach with lm() and anova()
I wonder if someone could explain the behavior of the anova() and lm()
functions in the following situation:
I have a standard 3x2 factorial design, factorA has 3 levels, factorB has 2
levels, they are fully crossed. I have a dependent variable DV.
Of course I can do the following to get the usual anova table:
> anova(lm(DV~factorA+factorB+factorA:factorB))

Hi,
I''m new to puppet so apologises if this is obvious and only proves that I
haven''t read the manual from cover to cover (oops, did I really to admit
that! ;-)
In the DebianRecipies example it uses the variable to determine the relative
path to some template files. The variable has been set up at the node level
however, there''s the possibility that it hasn''t

W98 abnormal behaviour
Hi all,
i've got a strange behaviour with W98 workstations :
I've samba3 running as a PDC on an heterogeneous network.
it's used for authentication only and profiles are disabled so we use the local
profile on workstation.
the configuration works fine for Win2k and XP. But on W98, it get an "standard"
profile from an unknown place and manage to write it on the server...

Re: Fwd: Win32 services management?
Hi,
I am interested in implementing the 'createservice()' functionality
using the RPC protocol. I need this functionality badly, and I
understand it is not implemented.
I understand vaguely how this should be working and found some
documentation,

two newbie questions

so simple you won't need to.
# I have some data (there are many more variables, but this is a
reasonable approximation of it)
# here's a fabricated data frame that is similar in form to mine:

Lossless audio codecs for video editing
Hi,
this email is sent to flac-dev AT xiph DOT org, copied to matroska-devel
AT lists DOT matroska DOT org, and David Bryant, the author of Wavpack4.
We are about to implement the DV ( Digital Video ) video compression
standard into matroska, to be able to offer an intelligent alternative
to AVI for DV handling in editor tools. DV is using a high quality, high
bitrate lossy video compression
