Migrating from TNG to 2.2
Hi,
is there a HOWTO about migrating from Samba TNG to Samba 2.2?
I have problems with the user profiles on the Windows client machines,
they are recreated on login on the new Samba (2.2.5) machine. I copied
the SID (with smbpasswd), /etc/passwd and smbpasswd to the new machine,
and everything works fine, except for the user profiles.
Currently we are not using server-saved profile, but we will

getting Samba 3.0.1 to use NIS UID's/GID's instead of its own
There are two NT domains, the resource domain (pretend it's RESDOM) and the user domain (MASDOM) where RESDOM trusts MASDOM. My Samber server (COOL) is registered in the RESDOM domain. I can do smbclient -L COOL -U MASDOM/myname and it asks for a password and displays the shares correctly, even picking up the NIS logon share.
The problems start, however, when I want to connect to the myname

Sveasoft Alchemy QOS
I just bought two new Linksys WRT54G routers. Sveasoft has loaded Linux on
this router and included a bunch of Linux tools, one of which is Bandwidth
Management. The QoS aspect of this is supposed to be much more granular
than the previous solution (Wonder Shaper).
I have not been able to find any suggestions for how to impliment QoS
(Bandwidth Management) using the web interface of Alchemy.

call center design question
Would like to deploy * in a small help desk environment (five to ten
people) using call queues and some sort of CTI interface to pop Remedy
screen data in front of the help desk person receiving the call. Data
to be popped would be based on CallerID.
Anyone doing something similar?
Anyone interfacing to an external Remedy system?
Any reference sites that I could read/learn more of the

Windows 98 Preformance
I have Samba on a HP-UX 10.20 box and a Windows 98 and NT clients. We are using
Samba to just share the Unix drives, the clients get their main stuff from an
NT domain structure. On my NT client connected to a share, when I go into file
manager for an example I get the directory structure almost instantly. However
when the 98 client does the same exact process on the same exact share, it take
