Winbind issue connecting to trusted domain controllers
Hi. The quick question: Is there a way of forcing a Samba server that is an Active Directory member server to limit lookups to it's local domain only and not all trusted domains? The question in more detail: I have a Samba server that is joined to my local AD domain ("css.ad.example.com"). There are other domains under ad.example.com such as lps.ad.example.com and

After two days of successlessly fiddling (and moving all data to another server with still Samba 3.6, which I will definitely NOT update at the moment), I decided to purge my Installation and start

re. Initial Samba Setup
On a recommendation from this list I checked the junklog file, the output from which I attached below. It looks as if it does not even see the linux machine as it indicates not seeing "explorer" which is the local netbios name. The Win XP machine does not even show in the log. Here is the last entry for nmbd.log: ***** [2003/11/21 06:24:58, 0] nmbd/nmbd.c:terminate(54) Got SIGTERM:

Hello, I installed 4.8-RELEASE a few weeks ago, and since I let the effort sit stagnant for a while I decided to do the cvsup/buildworld/buildkernel/installkernel/installworld/mergemaster/MAKEDEV steps to get current. Problem authenticating from standalone servers via Samba 3.0.34 domain member servers to Samba 3.2.5 domain controller
We recently upgraded our PDC from Debian 4 to Debian 5. That entailed an upgrade of Samba from 3.0.24 to 3.2.5. Since the upgrade we've had a very specific problem connecting to shares on a commercial NAS running Samba 3.0.34. The problem happens when users try to connect to shares from standalone servers--e.g., Windows XP Pro boxes that we use for testing. From those boxes users should be
