Orphaned rsync process on remote machine?
All, Sometimes when I do an rsync, it times out and leaves on orphaned process on the remote machine. I am running rsync over ssh using public key authentication. I synchronize about twenty-five machines, and this problem only appears on one of them. It worked until recently on this machine. I don't know what changed or what is different. I run rsync with a command line like this

HP-UX 10.20 assistance
To Whomever can assist, I am looking for anyone who has gotten OpenSsh 3.7.1p2 to build under HP-UX 10.20. Ongoing Samba Errors
Greetings We just updated two RH9 servers to 3.0.14a-1 and are still seeing a lot of errors in the logs. They're not stopping us working but I would _really_ like to understand what is causing them. On the first server, in the logwatch, we get a whole swag of: samba: Unknown Entries: session opened for user janicer by (uid=0): 6 Time(s) session opened for user sonjap by

3.0.2 AFS login problem, Solaris 2.5.1
I've been beating myself senseless trying to build OpenSsh 3.0.1 on Solaris 2.5.1 and get AFS login working. The symptoms of the problem are: sshd builds (used --with-afs and -with-kerberos4 - there is no PAM on this box), accepts connections from non-AFS users, but does not accept a connection from an AFS user; the user sees "permission denied" after entering the password. [LLVMdev] Access to LLVM CVS repository
Hi, I am an intern at JPL and just started working on a new project that involves using LLVM for model checking. It seems that you are quite close to the LLVM 2.0 release date. Since it is a "big" release, I'd prefer to start with the latest code. Is it possible to get access to LLVM CVS repository? Thank you, Anna.

Failed to set socket option
Hi, I run a Veritas cluster server with two different samba's 2.0.7 compiled with SUNWspro 4.0 (gcc 2.95 leads to the same results) on Solaris 7 UltraSPARC 60 server. One compiled with --prefix=/opt/samba-test the other with --prefix=/opt/samba-eng. To avoid using 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0 when both smbd's running on the same cluster host I set this in both smbd.conf

Linux Samba Server: empty shares on (Mac) clients
Hi, I run a Samba Server on openSuSE 11.4 with LDAP Authentication Backend. appears to work fine. However, only some shares work on my Mac client boxes: for instance, i can browse my home directory on the Linux box (/home/ray), whereas other shares are simply empty ("r01" below) on the mac (but they are shown as connected). W2K Domain Login Problem with 2.2.0
Hello! I was using samba-2.2.0-alpha3 (and just about earlier versions as well) and had no problems with getting W2K users to login to my domain using their username/password. However, after upgrading to samba-2.2.0, when W2K users tried to login using their username/password, W2K pops up a small dialog box in the middle of the screen that says - Your account has been disabled, please

Failed to set socket option error in Samba 2.0.6/Solaris 7
I sent an earlier message asking for help in debugging the cause of this error. I didn't get any response. Today, I set debug level to 10, shutdown and started samba, and waited for the error to occur. The error did re-occur but I have 12460 lines of log to search through. What should I be looking for (I didn't want to send the log to the list)? > Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 12:37:48

I'm having serious problems with Samba not working properly. Clients can't log into the server for some reason. I'm trying to run through the diagnosis stuff at http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/DIAGNOSIS.html and when I try to do a net view \\samba-server at a pc DOS prompt, I get 'System error 1728 has occurred. A remote procedure call (RPC) protocol error occurred."
