strange Samba - NT4 domain connectivity problem.
Hi all. I'm having a strange intermittent problem with Samba 2.2.8a losing connectivity with our PDC and BDC. We are currently having a problem with our PDC restarting due to a bug check about 2-3 times a month. When this happens and the PDC is restarted or anytime it is restarted, we are not able to map shares on any of our 5 servers using samba 2.2.8a - the fix is to kill smbd and nmbd

v2.2.2 + dsync version incompatibility
Looks like dsync v2.2.2 isn't fully compatible with earlier dsync versions, unless you add: http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-2.2/rev/e0156c479a12

Strange ups.load and battery.temperature with an APC Back-UPS RS 800 (NUT v2.2.2)
Hello!! I have a APC Back-UPS RS 800 and I'm using NUT v2.2.2 on a PowerPC powered NAS. With WinNut, I found the ups.load value strange, so I've done a "upsc ups" and got this results: battery.charge: 100 battery.charge.low: 10 battery.charge.warning: 50 battery.date: 2001/09/25 battery.mfr.date: 2007/12/28 battery.runtime: 997 battery.runtime.low: 120 battery.temperature:

opus Digest, Vol 53, Issue 2
Hi All, Regarding cycle measurements for ARM/NEON, ARM no longer provide cycle accurate simulators. The method we use is to to make measurements on hardware via the PMU unit on the core itself. Note that if your running under Linux you may be 'allowed' to access the PMU directly but can access via it system calls. Typically you will need to make a series of measurements and average them.

Problems saving Excel sheets using Office 97 on a Samba share
Hey all, We're having some trouble saving Excel documents on our Samba Fileserver. We are moving people over to our Samba box, and have moved most of our documents over. Now, we have people opening their Excel documents, but are unable to save them. When something is saved, we see this message: Your changes could not be saved to 'document.xls', but were saved to a temporary document

Everyone could setup an auto-responder to send replies to his E-mail address that contains instructions on how to properly setup his mail filters to skip the auto reply to this and any other mailing lists he is associated with. Perhaps when his company sees the incredible slow-down on their mail server and investigates the issue. They could unplug his machine from their network,

Problem with pam_winbind
I'm on a redhat 7.2 box, and I am trying to configure PAM to use winbind to authenticate against an NT4 PDC. I followed the instructions I found at: http://de.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/htmldocs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.html#WINBIND I compiled the 2.2.4 source and have tried several permutations of the setup they suggest, and have tried many solutions I've seen suggested on different

MSVC TerminalServer Speed
Hi, Back in 1997 the list was full of tips on making Microsoft Visual C++ Studio (v6) use files over Samba (v2.2.2 on Solaris). Could someone please point me to the definitive answers... (beyond speed.txt?) and their current status. We have an added complication of having 5 developers using each NT4 box over citrix/Terminalserver. Some days we are fine, but some days we slow to a crawl of over a

Removing partial Samba Install
Hello everyone: Being a newbie, I'm extending myh education via trial and error. When I originally installed Red Hat Linux, I believe that Samba version 2.0.3-8 was installed. In fact, when I now query rpm for Samba, the response indicates the above mentioned version. A while back, I downloaded the latest version of Samba (2.2.2) and dutifully tried to install it. I issued the commands as

looping over factors
How does one loop over factors? Perhaps this is a newbie question. I tried: > b [1] caseX caseY caseZ Levels: caseX caseY caseZ > length(b) [1] 3 > > for (i in b) { + print (b == i) ; + print (i); + } [1] FALSE FALSE FALSE [1] 1 [1] FALSE FALSE FALSE [1] 2 [1] FALSE FALSE FALSE [1] 3 > But that strangely doesn't work. I must protest the implications of the above. i , as

Sharing nested folders / maildir variations?
Hey all, So I've got a shared namespace in dovecot where users can, via a custom control panel, share their folders into (which creates a symlink) in order to allow anyone on their domain to access it. I store mail in maildir. The issue is that when people share folders, they expect that when they make subfolders, those are automatically shared as they are contained within it.

Always Ringing
Hi all, I am using chan_h323 from Asterisk CVS to interconnect with GNUGK v2.2.2. Then I made call from a H323 EP, thru GNUGK, to SIP EP on Asterisk. However, I only heard ringing when the call was answered on SIP side. Below is the debug from chan_h323. Any help is welcome. [LLVMdev] Porting to x86 Linux

Sieve Advice Needed, Please
Anybody here familiar with the Sieve language? I'm rebuilding my mail server, and I am working with the sieve language to automatically filter spam into a separate account. However, I've hit a snag that I can't get around. BTW, I'm using a clean install of dovecot, postfix, spamassassin on Debian 7.5. I want to do server-side spam filtering, so I've got spamasassin
