login script problem
Hello all. I'm having a bit of trouble with login scripts. Whenever a workstation logs in, the first line in the batch file gets run, but then a "Batch file missing" error is displayed. I've checked the permissions on the file and changed them to 777 and it still doesn't work. I'm using samba 2.2.2. Any ideas? Here's my config snippit: logon path =

UID and GID mapping throw DC and Member DC
After tried to solve the problem with "getent", I found another problem with the Member server. The member server works well, but the "uid" and "gid" mapping for users its incorrect. In the DC the "UID" "GID" its around 3000085 In the Member Server its around 2000 - 3000 For example: ADDC Server. --------------------- root at ACDC:/# wbinfo

UID and GID mapping throw DC and Member DC
What do you mean with different winbinds? I can destroy the member server, its on testing. It is for the version of windbind? I can get this from DC. But I can not do the same with DC. different plot symbols in key using xyplot
I'm using xyplot in a very simple way---a scatter plot of several data sets. I'm having a problem getting auto.key to display different point characters. The following produces a plot that employes different colors, all with pch(1), for the different groups, with a matching key. xyplot(Force~Time, rawData, groups=Sample, panel = panel.superpose, auto.key=TRUE) The following

problem with smbios 2.13?
Hello, I''m using the latest b75 ISO to try and get a solaris dom0 running on my laptop, a Sony SZ-330P. The Xen LiveCD works just fine, so I know that theoretically it should work. Build 75 also works just fine on my Sony, including sound and video, etc. But when I try and boot the Xen kernel, the system hangs. There''s no panic printed to console. If I pass a -v option at

Support for R in highlight.js
Hello, I'm the maintainer of a syntax highlighting tool highlight.js[1]. Recently the Kaggle project has announced they wanted to sponsor the development of the R highlighting definition for it[2]. I wanted to drop a line about it here since I suspect this list has much more R programmers on it than our small discussion group :-). So if you're interested and don't mind touching a

Hosts Allow
Samba Team, I would first like to thank you all for volunteering your time. I am currently running Samba version 2.2.8a on a SUN server using Solaris 2.9. I have read all the man pages, checked all the old archived postings, and check three books on Samba but still can't find the answer. My question is with the "hosts allow" line on the smb.conf file. I have several ranges that I

Possible to make samba ignore file permissions?
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Is there a way to setup samba to pretty much ignore file permissions, but allow the write list of users to modify files in shares? The problem I have, is users need permission through samba to modify web pages, but they need to NOT have permission when they FTP in or through shell. -- Northern Indiana ESC Adam Kennedy - akennedy@niesc.k12.in.us

Samba 4 Member server show diferent UID than Ad Server
Without UID and / or GID configured into AD database (into LDAP tree) Samba would give UID / GID to users and groups when needed, and as nothing is written, Samba has to guess. This guessing process is called id mapping. Samba does not synchronize generated file containing this ID map. No synchronization and xID random xID fathers to xID inconsistency. This is not necessarily an issue: with only

storage of lm objects in a database
Hello, I'd like to use DBI to store lm objects in a database. I've to analyze many of linear models and I cannot store them in a single R-session (not enough memory). Also it'd be nice to have them persistent. Maybe it's possible to create a compact binary representation of the object (the kind of format created created by "save"), so that one doesn't need to write
