Netlogon Not Executed on Win98 Client
Greetings,
I have configured Samba 2.0.5a as the master domain controller in a
Samba server / Win98 client configuration (no NT anywhere) and most
everything works great. Users are authenticated and shares are
browsable. I configured the [netlogon] share using the example from the
Blair book. Right out of the block it worked like a champ.
However, at some point the netlogon.bat stopped being

Network lockups with win98 and samba 3
Hi all,
This is a new install on a network comprised of win98 and xp machines. I'm a
relative newbie to samba and getting some errors and problems. I would much
appreciate some advice on my setup.
The setup is samba-3.0.23,1 running on FreeBSD 6.1-STABLE as a windows
server replacement and with clients mostly running dos POS software on win98
machines and other dos and windows software on

Win98/HP Printer problem. Partially Solved.
I set up a print/fax server here using RH Linux 6.0, and Samba 2.0.3. The
printer is an old (but still very reliable) HP Laserjet 4. Printing from
the Linux box using lpr works fine. However, whenever someone tries to
print from a Windows98 box through SAMBA, there is an extra page printed
on the end. This gets really annoying to the users, more so because the
extra pages cannot be put back into

No print to Samba (Linux) printer from Win98
I'm stuck.
I have Samba running on my Red Hat 7.2 Linux box. I can mount by remote dirctory
on the Linux box via Samba. But I can't print to the Linux printer. I have a
Linux printer installed and I can print to it using lpr. I have a printer
configured in Samba and can see that from the Win98SE box. I've clicked on the
Samba printer name and configured a Win98 printer.

I have Samba 2.07 on Mandrake 7.2 distro. I am proxying a DSL connection
successfully over Squid. I do not have ipchains running but with all the BS
Mandrake like to pack on it's hard to tell what it's scripts all do. All the
tests with the smbclient on the samba machine work fine. Also all the test
with nmblookup. I have a clean Ping from both ends. When I use smbclient to

almost printing
Ok, I've managed to print to my HPDeskjet 694c attached to a Solaris 8 box
running samba 2.2.2 from Win98. Problem is with the left margin, there are
these little lines (garbage) running down the 1st column on the left side
of the page. Also, when I print a page from Word 97, the whole page doesn't
print (about 95% of it) and starts a little too far down the page. Printing
was perfect
