TOSHAG-ChangeNotes.xml translate finished and some typo found
Now, TOSHARG-ChangeNotes.xml translate to Japanese finished(3.4.0 base). And some typo found. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Assume that a group named <emphasis>developers</emphasis> exists with a UNIX GID of 782. In this case this user does not exist in Samba's group mapping table. It would be perfectly normal for ----group?

recovering value of scalar from false color map and image
I have a JPEG map of temperature data, coded using a given legend where blues are cooler and reds hotter. Is there any preexisting R magic or package which might let me recover the value of the scalar quantity so represented given the RGB values at each point in the picture? After processing, I'd also like to push the results back through the translate to get an RGB JPEG again. Thanks for

Recovering lost data from a journal
Hello All, I was curious to know if there is any method for recovering data that has been deleted by a user on accident, this occurred prior to the running of the official back-up. Anyway, a user ended up losing a few hours of work, so I need to attempt to recover what I can, if at all possible. Any suggestions? Recovering files "lost" during a rebalance on a Dispersed 3+1
Hello, We are running glusterfs 6.6 on Ubuntu. We have a Gluster storage system that is a few years old. There are 4 VMs running a Dispersed (NOT replicated) system - a 3 + 1 configuration. Generally performance is well tuned for our needs, but the problem arose last time we added bricks: we attempted a rebalance which is reported as failed. From the mounted POSIX view of the file system, we

R's AIC values differ from published values
Using the Cement hardening data in Anderson (2008) Model Based Inference in the Life Sciences. A Primer on Evidence, and working with the best model which is lm ( y ~ x1 + x2, data = cement ) the AIC value from R is model <- lm ( formula = y ~ x1 + x2 , data = cement ) AIC ( model ) 64.312 which can be converted to AICc by adding the bias

appending
All, In the function below I have 24 individuals and 6 calculations per individual. The 6 calculations are collected each time in a 1:24 loop when calculating "delta". I'd like to collect all 144 = 24*6 calculations in one vector ("delta.patient.comb"). The function works as is via indexing, but is there an easier way to collect the measurements via appendinng the 6

glm: formula vs character
Hello, This is a question motivated by curiosity, not a pressing problem. Any responses are much appreciated! In the following code, function reg1 calls glm with a formula object while reg2 uses a string. In both cases, glm works; however, in the second case, the add1 function fails with the following message: "Error in eval(predvars, data, env) : invalid 'envir' argument."

Problems recovering data from broken disk
Hi, maybe someone could help me out here: I have a broken disk with serveral partitions (1-3 primary, 4 extended and 5-6 logical). I am able to get access to the primary partions and already recovered the data. I can see all partitions using fdisk -l /dev/hdc. But I cannot mount the logical ones: mount -t ext3 /dev/hdc5 /mnt mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on

Updated Shorewall build and publish scripts
Attached please find updated build and publish scripts. They set the ''ulink.target'' parameter appropriately when converting docbook->HTML. I have always hacked my xhtml/params.xsl file to set this parameter; these updated scripts make that abomination unnecessary. Paul/Mike: It might be a good idea to add a CVS project for these scripts. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is
