I have upgraded on my debian server from samba 2.2.3 (stable ) to samba 3.0rc4 (unstable). The only problem that I have on my PDC is that italian character as ? (a') ? If I do a 'smbclient -L <sambasever>', I do not see a list of workgroups or masters. That's because we didn't set Samba up to be master. If I do a 'smbclient -L <ntserver>', I see: This machine has a workgroup list: Workgroup Master --------- ------- NTDOMAIN <ntserver> WORKGROUP

Have just upgraded to samba 1.9.18p3 on a RedHat 5.0 linux system... now... when i type smbstatus... this is what i get.. Couldn't open status file /var/lock/samba/STATUS..LCK so i assume that for some reason... this status file is not created upon startup.. Pat.

I am not able to join an XP Machine to a Samba domain. I am able to complete all the procedure until the reboot, bur after the Windows reboot, at the login, the windows says that it is not possible to contact the Primary domain controller.
