Skype Public Key - How to install PGP Public Key in CentOS5, from alternate site that I have in web browser?
Hello: A simple question: On this Wiki page:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Skype it says that the normal method for
the Public Key isn't working. I copied the URL for the alternate key
location http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/infosys/phone/skype/rpm-public-key.asc
into the browser and I get a PGP Public Key. Question: What rpm
command do I use, to Import the Public Key that's in the browser

FC5: "ext_attr" and "large_file" features for ext3 file systems ???
Hi,
Fedora Core ext3 file systems newbie questions:
Just interested in the Linux ext3 features but got
confused with "large_file" and "ext_attr".
First, what's the "large_file" feature REALLY means?
For file systems created with same commands and
options some file systems have it on while some not.
It is said that the feature is automatic -- If there

Recover original superblock on corrupted filesystem?
I've been trying to use fsck to recover a corrupted filesystem.
It appears the original superblock is corrupted too, as it has an inode
count of 0. When I start fsck with -b 32760, it uses the alternate
superblock and proceeds. However, it restarts from the beginning a
couple of times and after the second restart it doesn't use the
alternate superblock, stopping instead as it can't

Viewing Properties of file marks it Read-Only?
I've got CIFS/9000 (rebadged SAMBA 2.2.3a) running under HP-UX 11.11 using
the below configuration.
If I use Windows Explorer to right-click on any file (in the SAMBA Share)
and view its Properties, the Unix privileges get changed from "-rwxrwxr-x"
to "-rwxr--r--" essentially making it Read-Only!! Even if I don't change
anything and click CANCEL on the dialogue box?

Mail items not showing in outlook from network shared pst file
We are using a solaris box running samba
We have seen that approximately one month's email is missing from a
user's pst file if the file is located on a samba share.
The general and specific sections of our smb.conf file are as below. The
mailboxes are stored in the [mail] share.
# Samba config file created using SWAT

Request for wiki editing policy change...
I'm a newbie at centos (hence my visiting a wiki on the subject in the
first place) but pretty savvy about wikis.
I got an account (Jen.RM) with the wiki thinking that would let me
edit a writeup that was broken. Then I clicked on the contribute tab
thinking that maybe someone had renamed "edit" and I ended up here:

Strange network file access behavior
I have a Samba PDC and a file server (domain member). They are both
running CentOS 4, with Samba3-3.0.24-30 and LDAP 2.3 (on PDC). Domain
authentication seems to be running fine and file access on the file
server works also. I have one share on the file server that gives me
trouble. Whenever I access files from this one directory, the network
seems to lock up for close to a minute. I get 64%

Multi-device support is compiled into my DomU kernel, device-mapper is
built as a module.
But I don''t think this has something to do with my problem because

fdisk on mounted disks ?
the other day i was trying to create a new freebsd slice on the
same disk i booted from (on a freshly updated RELENG_6) and both
fdisk and sysinstall failed with some error (i think they could not
write on the disk, or something similar).
boot -s did not seem to help, either.
I remember vaguely some time ago a bit of discussion
on this topic, but cannot recall the outcome nor any

DOS fdisk
Hi,
I am using isolinux with memdisk to create a multi-bootable resource cd
where I work. I have the Windows 98SE bootdisk created as an image and
everything boots fine from the CD. However when I attempt to use fdisk,
it asks about enabling large disk support and when I answer yes it dumps
me back out to the prompt. Running fdisk /mbr reports 'no fixed disks
present.'
