wine compilation fails: 'checking X11/xpm.h - no'
Hello
I am having this compilation error
while running 'configure'.
It fails to detect the xpm.h
file which in fact is where
it is supposed be. I am running
RH70 and xpm&xpm-dev rpms are
installed.
Codeweavers FAQ offers a solution
to this problem:

[PATCH][git-pull] memdisk/dskprobe.c
git://git.zytor.com/users/genec/syslinux.git
Branch memdiskdbg-for-sha0
This starts with adding another check in two of the disk probes (by
Shao; Thank you), expands the debug output, adds an additional check
in the third probe and expands/reorders the debug output. At this
time, it appears to resolve the MEMDISK issues that Jason Vasquez
first noticed.
The additional check in the third probe

locking db corruption with 2.2.5?
Hi,
We are running Samba 2.2.5 on RedHat 7.3 rebuild with ldap support. We
run Win2k Terminal Server, which provides most of the clients for the
samba server.
After a fairly long samba server up time (usually a couple of days, but
this happened overnight), we end up with some odd entries in the
smbstatus output in the "Locked files:" area....
Here is one line of the type I mean:

The server rebuild was a complete failure. For some reason, neither FC3

I have reinstalled the old hard drive and the server is back on line.

Hi All,

I set all five of my customer XP workstations to

lanman auth = yes
ntlm auth = yes
And had to turn it right back on as the customer's

Upgrade broke file locking
Prior to upgrading from RH7.0 to RH7.3 our Samba filserver worked perfectly.
Now we are having locking problems. Initially Iused the same samba binaries
built on RH70, I tried rebuilding Samba and reinstalling but it had no effect.
If user bon opens an M$-Office file they frequently get a 'file is already in
use by bob'. Sure enough smbstatus -L shows the file locked by bob, but bob

I've plugged in two 3com OfficeConnect 10/100 3CSOHO100B-TX in my

Please criticize my smb.conf
Hi All,
You please look over my smb.conf and make
criticism as appropriate?
This is a workgroup server.
winbind is running
DDNS is also running (DNS [bind] talks to DHCPd)
Many thanks,

Automating package building packages and repository uploading
Dear Rusers,
I have developed two packages for a client of mine. After new features
are added or bugs corrected, I upload them to my own web repository. I
create both source and binary versions.
In fact, I made an script that checks, builds, and uploads them via ftp.
However, I am facing two nuisances that do make it difficult to
automate:
1) Even if I build the binary version with the command

i810/agpgart problem with X
Hi list,
This is my first post to this list so be kind... :)
I installed CentOS 3.3 on a Dell Optiplex GX110 over the weekend and found that
when I try to start X, I get a problem with loading the agpgart module which
causes X to crash out. I did a little poking around Red Hat's bugzilla for
RHEL3 and found the following bug:

"lanman auth" question
lanman should always be disabled. use "testparm -v" to make sure the
settings are applied as you expect. With different samba versions, the
defaults may change.
I don't think you can disable ntlmv1 but leave ntlmv2 enabled. I could
be wrong. NTLMv2 is stronger. And I think clients will
negotiate the strongest common protocol. If you are in a small

"lanman auth" question
How old is the scanner ? Did you check for a firmware update for
it? NTLM has been around for so long that it is hard to imagine
anything that has to have LANMAN support.

(PR#1008) SIGSEGV began at 1.2.0
This behaviour is confirmed for RH70, RH62, Debian 2.2 on 3 different
Pentium-class i386. I've checked back and package ann_0.2-2 works on
1.1.1, but fails with seg. faults on 1.2.0 (ann_0.2-2.pre3.tar.gz to
accommodate the change in Makeconf) and subsequent (1.2.0 checked today on
RH62 with gcc 2.95.3 19991030 (prerelease)).
It is most likely that 1.1.1 was too forgiving, and that better

Re 2: Sorry to waste your time - I will stop using rsync
Peter,
One other thing.
The first two times it crashed I erased the file tree created by rsync so
that the snaphot started from scratch again.
Each of these two times it got to exactly the same file:
usr/lib/locale/es_CO/LC_COLLATE
when it crashed.
That was when I stopped rebuidling and re-cabling my hardware, because I
saw a determinate pattern in the crashes...
