Question on printer share comments
I've got this section of my Samba (v2.2.1a, on Linux):
[printers]
comment = Network Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
create mask = 0700
guest ok = Yes
print ok = Yes
browseable = No
I have 2 printers attached to my server machine, both of which are working
fine.
I would like to have more descriptive comments for each printer. (Comments

Uploading Printer Driver Files
Hi,
I'm close to succeeding in uploading new drivers but it just won't
work. I'm running v2.2.1a on a sun box and w2k on the client.
- In my conf file, I've defined a print$ share, an entry in printcap
and put in a definition of the printer.
- I've also added my own user name to the printer admin list
- I've created the directory that print$ points to, created W32X86

Hello to all!
I have seen an earlier post on this issue on this list, but noone replied to
thatone, and that's why I'm going to post it again (and because I have to get

I am using the following code in my smb.conf:

include = /usr/lib/smbconf/%G.conf
<some more definitions>
The documentation of include doesn't state

Force asterisk to re-resolve dns names?
Is there really no way to have asterisk re-resolve domain names from iax
or sip providers if this failed or timed out the first time?
When asterisk boots on every box i have asterisk is toooo impatient
trrying to resolve the domain names for a first time. This results in
asterisk thinking the provider is unreachable and only trying again in one
week or so.
This results (depending on the dial

Does "--with-profile" create "smbcontrol" executable?
I just noticed that I don't have an installed "smbcontrol" executable. Is
this because I built Samba v2.2.1a without the "--with-profile" config
option?
Thanks.

Samba Upgrade Weirdness
Hi all,
I'm trying to upgrade Samba from v2.2.1a-4 to 2.2.4-2 and I've having
some problems.
First off when trying to use the rpm -U command I get an error that
samba is dependant on samba-swat (which I cant seem to find the same
version as sambe for) so I decide to remove both the existing Samba and
Samba swat and then install the new one. I uninstall both of them but

xfs on 5.2 (live cd + dvd)
Hello,
I'm planning a server migration and being able to mount xfs file systems
with the live cd would be a cruical feature.
So before I download and try ... can anyone tell me whether the xfs is
included in the 5.2 live cd?
Later on I'm planning to install a new system with xen, 3ware 9550SX-4LP
and xfs. The xen domains are of course located on xfs partitions.
Do these features come

Intersection an Sum between list and matrix
Hello,
I need to do an intersection between the list elements (partitionslist) and
the columns and rows of a matrix (mm), so that the result will be the sums
of the rows and columns.
Thanks a lot,
Romildo Martins
Example
1.The Intersection and sum betweeen partitionslist[[1]][[2]] and mm is
indicated in bold.
2.The Intersection and sum betweeen partitionslist[[1]][[2]] and mm is

User found but password failure
Trying to figure out which step is causing me not to be able to
login. I am using a password file,
passdb {
driver = passwd-file
args = scheme=SHA512-CRYPT username_format=%u /etc/dovecot/passwd
}
We will assume that the pw I created using 'doveadm pw -s
SHA512-CRYPT' matches the password I will be using to login below. I
crank the debugging mode,
auth_debug_passwords = yes

I don''t know why, but when I drag those sortables (tagged with the handle

When you drag the li between the uls that are the big containers, no
