John Rosatti, Excavators, 3D, NASA and Why Should I care?
Well, because! There are two definitions for excavator; one is any person
engaging in excavation is called an excavator. The second definition of
excavator is, of course, the vehicles called excavators, which are sometimes
called diggers, trackhoes, fronthoes, and 360-degree excavators or just
360. This is not to be confused with

HABTM / Dropdown Help Needed
I''m terribly new to Rails, so bear with me.
I have an application I am working on which deals with projects and
subcontractors. There can be several subs on each project and each sub
can work on several projects. I have my join table set up and
has_and_belongs_to_many in both models. If I manually put data in the
join table, this works in my show view:

smbstatus show open files when none are
I recently (a few weeks ago) installed 1.9.18p8 in order
to get better performance with an Access Database, which along
with adding a TCP_NODELAY in the [global] section has that
working like a charm. Thing that's bugging me now is smbstatus.
When I run it I see open files listed when I know that they aren't.
The following output shows quite a few files open that aren't
really. The

Forming a Linux tiger team.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
In a recent message on this list someone proposed the idea of forming a
linux tiger team. I am interested in forming a team like this. Are there
any other interested people?
[mod: "someone" is Eric Allman. He was talking about a
sendmail-tiger-team, but as we are on the linux-security list right
now, a linux-tiger-team is the obvious move.... Michael

Way to go, CentOS team. Here's a hearty "thank you"!
Hello all,
To the CentOS developers, beta testers, and all who were involved in a
small or major way in the release of CentOS 5.4...thank you. Ignoring the
peer pressure, even though it was out a little later than you (and many of
us) wanted, you got it RIGHT. *That* is what was important. I yum updated
from 5.3 to 5.4 with NO issues that I can speak of right now.
Thanks to you fine folks,

[samba4] Thank you to the Samba Team
Hi,
I wanted to write this message in order to thank the Samba team for the work they provided. With some colleagues we had to organize a national competitive examination for the Education (in France) for which the candidates worked on computers (on Windows 7). After thought, we had decided to use Samba4 with :
- a domain controller on a Debian Wheezy (it was a virtual machine that we had

I have Ubuntu 8.10 and wine 1.1.10
The game installed but when I run it I

Is there a way to direct icecast to associate a stream from a
particular source to a designated mount point?
I've got two different streams I'm encoding that I'd like to make
available on the same server. Currently, I have one going to /icy_0
and the other to /icy_1. That's okay for the moment, but if either
the server or the two encoders reboot, the streams might reconnect in

Yes, i believe you hitted "not" having the "root zone" in internal DNS.
If i recall correctly its somewhere in 4.4. or 4.5 fix.
But as Rowland said, i suggest also upgrading.
ps other fix is, switch to bind9_DLZ
But again i still advice to upgrade.

liveice/lame problem
I've set up Liveice on a Yellowdog Linux laptop (YDL 2.0). I'm trying
to stream to an icecast server on another YDL 2.0 system.
Streaming seems to be fine, but encoding is pure garbage. When I
listen to the stream, it basically sounds like white noise. The
intesity of the hum depends on the strength of the sound being
encoded, though. If I stop playing the CD, it drops to a gentle
