Printer fiasco...
OK, First, thanks for all of the help recently. I appreciate it. But...I have just implemented the cvs code as to be able to use the 'use client driver' option because win nt/2k machines have been seeing an 'Access denied, unable to connect' error for the print queues and this will apparently fix this. I will describe my setup and what I have done thus far: RH 7.1 Samba 2_2 cvs

How to analysis Y98 chips using RankProd package?
Dear R and Bioconductor Helpers, I am using a package called RankProd under Bioconductor to analysis my Y98 (yeast) microarray data. I had no problem following the example in the vignette but got stocked when I tried to analyze my own data. When I tried to run the following command, RP.out <- RP(rrf.sub, rrf.cl.sub, gene.names = y98.gnames, rand = 123) I got the following response: Rank

RPM question...
If I have the POSIX acl support complied into my system, will installing the rpm detect this and install acl support with the samba 2.2.2 rpm for redhat? Any ideas would be great. If this is not possible, I will compile. But it would be nice to know if this is true. Thanks gang. Wade Winright "Open the pod bay doors HAL!!!" -Arthur C. NTFS conversion?
Hello all, I am looking for a way to move a massive amount of data from an NTFS filesystem to an ext3 filesystem in order to move a samba box in to replace a win2K server. If anyone has any ideas or pointers, or links to follow, I would appreciate it. This is the first step, after this I get to figure out how to incorporate this into an EMC SAN. Whoopeee!!!! Thanks, Wade Winright "Open the

Refresh Script...
Not to many days ago, somebody posted a "refresh" script that I believe allowed you to refresh samba without dropping currently connected users. If this is correct, could someone repost please? I seem to have misplaced my copy and now need it fairly bad. Thanks, Wade Winright "Build a better mantrap, and the rats will beat a path to your door..." -Neil Fallon

Printer shows up before it is defined!
This may be a glitch/bug/feature unto itself, or it may relate to the problem I've been having with getting Win2k SP2 to print to a printer on Samba. I have just created a new, clean install of Mandrake 8.1. Then I updated CUPS from 1.1.10 to 1.1.11. I updated Gimp-print from 4.1.99b2 to 4.2.0. I am using Samba 2.2.1a, directly from the Mandrake 8.1 install. The printer is an Epson

[LLVMdev] Revised patch to make gccld link native .so's
Here is a revised patch after some suggestions: 1. Removed extraneous changes (the white space changes that are -/+ whitespace), and the commented out code. 2. Keep the warning for linking dynamic libraries in LinkLibraries.cpp I still don't have a good solution to the problem of -L paths that include bytecode versions of the native libraries we're trying to link. Revised documentation on website
Hello everyone, I have put revised and even more up-to-date documentation on the website (http://tinc.nl.linux.org/documentation/tinc.html). It is actually meant for the upcoming pre4 release, but most of it applies to pre3 as well, and it is a lot more helpful than the previous docs. -- Met vriendelijke groet / with kind regards, Guus Sliepen <guus@sliepen.warande.net> --------------

Revised shapefiles package
Now available on CRAN is a revised version of the shapefiles package for reading and writing shapefiles in R. New additions, courtesy of others, include the ability to convert a simple R data frame of points, polylines or polygons to a shp format list, which can then be written out to a shapefile with write.shp. There is also a function to convert the read.shp shp format list to a simple data

Revised versions of the maptools and sp packages
Revised versions of maptools, a package for reading geographical data from shapefiles, and sp, a package with classes and methods for spatial data handling, have been released on CRAN. They are maptools release 0.5-1 and sp release 0.8-1. The maptools package now depends on sp (>= 0.8), so that users of maptools will need both to update the package itself, and to install the sp package. All

Revised Rcmdr.HH package
I posted a revised Rcmdr.HH_1.8-0 package on CRAN. The Rcmdr.HH package adds additional menu items to the Rcmdr package by John Fox. Our introductory course at Temple University includes several topics that were not addressed in the Rcmdr. This revision uses the new RcmdrPlugin technology that John announced a few days ago.
