mktemp
Has this not been changed to mkstemp just for reason of having to change
all of the smbd_mktemp() calls, for portability, or some hidden arcana?
Are there any platforms that samba supports that don't have mkstemp?

Xen 3.3 unstable on OpenSUSE 10.3 - initrd problem
Folks,
Mercurial is selectable as an installation in
OpenSUSE 10.3 YAST.
I have done the following:
hg clone http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-unstable.hg
hg clone http://xenbits.xensource.com/linux-2.6.18-xen.hg
make dist
sh ./install.sh
I tried running the following to create the initrd but it failed:
Depending on your config, you may need to use ''mkinitrd'' to

Non-persistent disk
Hi Libvirt team,
I am trying to create a new domain from XML file by using libvirt. I want
this new domain using non-persistent disk as its disk. Non-persistent disk
means that when the domain is running, all the modification would not be
written to disk file. So next time, when you boot VM from the same disk
file, you would have a fresh disk. I check the website but I could not find

64 Bit R Background Question
Hi,
I've collected quite a bit of elevation data (LIDAR elevation points) and am
looking for a suitable platform to do analysis and modeling on it. The data
is sitting in an Oracle database, one table, 200 million rows of x,y, and z.
I'm trying to figure out what hardware resources we need to reserve in order
to run 64 BIT R for this size data.
Here's my question:
Is the 64 BIT

Survfit: why different survival curves but same parameter estimates?
Hello,
I'm trying to estimate a Cox proportional hazard model with time-varying covariates using coxph. The parameter estimates are fine but there is something wrong with the survival curves I get with survfit (results are not plausible).
Let me explain why I think something's wrong.
To make sure I'm setting up my data correctly to estimate a model with time-varying covariates, I

Users can't delete an email (Totally Random effect)
Hello all... Found a weird one here. I tried to search the web but I'm
not having luck so I thought I'd hit the mailing list.
We have noticed off and on all school year that every so often a user
gets an email that they just can't delete using Thunderbird or Outlook
over IMAP (we do not support Pop3 anymore.) Essentially the user clicks
the email and takes it to the trash.

A little OT but hopefully still related enough... Maildir Delivered mail naming problems.
Normally I wouldn't post off topic to a mailing list, but I have posted
every where else I can think of and haven't had any success yet working
this out. I know there has to be a few people here with extensive
knowledge of how mail works and maybe just a tip in the right direction
would help me out at this point.
I have migrated from mbox format to Maildir format in the last week. I

Problem with a if statement inside a function
I have a really long functions, and at the end of the function, I am using a
if statement
to tag certain keywords based on whether they have certain values contained
in them.
However, the if statement doesn't seem to work.
When I had split up the commands into various functions, it worked fine, but
I'm not sure
what going on now that it's combined into a single function.

IAX Won't Pass Caller ID
Hi,
We have to servers set up in two different networks. We are able to connect
calls via IAX and they work perfectly. We do not see caller ID from clients
on either side. Our Grandstream phones say Eri and our XTen phones say
Asterisk.
We did a debug and I am pasting the output from both servers below. We tried
setCallerId in several different ways. We see the value get passed to the

R and Power Point
Dear R People:
I'm using R in a time series class. This class is being
broadcast live to 2 remote sites via closed circuit TV.
My people at the remote sites are having a terrible time
seeing the computer screen as it is broadcast(resolution issues). I have
decided to put together Power Point slides for the teaching.
I am currently saving the R screen as WMF files and inserting them
