samba 207 on solaris - idiot newbie questions
Hello all. I've decided to try using samba on our Solaris systems to give users who are stuck with PCs on their desks access to our gis data. I obtained a compiled binary package of version 2.0.7 from one of the samba.org sites, and have installed SAMBAroot, SAMBAusr, SAMBAman, and SAMBAdoc. All apparently worked just fine. I've made a couple of changes to the smb.conf file, changing

Samba won't share: ?nmblookup problem
Hi, I hope you can help! I am having problems getting samba to share across a large private network. The problem looks a bit like the problem is in resolving the name to an IP but I can't work out why. The network is a private (10.) network, and the PC's connecting to it are named and identified through Wins. All the PC's are running Novell clients to connect although a large

Some Netbios Name Lookups Exhibit Long Delay
Maybe someone has been through this already and can provide a solution... I don't see anything in my Google searches or in the O'Reilly troubleshooting section. Running 2.2.8a with LDAP on Redhat 9, up to date with all the RHN patches. Samba coordinates browse lists with another Samba box on a remote network (via a VPN). All workstations on both subnets use my local Samba box for WINS,

Request with Tech support
Hi, We are having a few problems with establishing SAMBA Security measures on Windows NT 4.0. We would really appreciate it if you could help us on this matter. I had recently downloaded SAMBA version 1.9.18p10 for Solaris 7 ( Intel Edition) and it works fine with public access shares. Our setup goes like this.... WIN NT 4.0 workstations are on a LAN, users are authenticated to a Novel 4.0

[LLVMdev] Running cross compiled binaries for ARM on gem5
Hi, I am trying to optimize some benchmarks using LLVM and run them on gem5 simulator (build for ARM). I am using Sourcery Codebench cross-compiler for ARM on my x-86 machine. My steps up till now have been using the following commands. 1. clang -static -emit-llvm -march=armv7-a -mfloat-abi=soft -target arm-elf a.cpp -c -integrated-as \

[LLVMdev] Running cross compiled binaries for ARM on gem5
Thanks Renato and Giang. I was able to run a simple HelloWorld program on gem5 (in SE mode) by using -target -arm-none-linux-gnueabi as the option during cross compilation. I am trying to cross compile some Computer Vision algorithms, which use OpenCV libraries, and I tried using the same command line options - clang++ *-emit-llvm -static -c -Wall -g -O0 -mfpu=vfp -mfloat-abi=soft

Re-post : Windows 98 cann't connect to samba
I get the same problem and have struggled on this for 4 days. My Linux box has RH8.0 on it and is networked with a Windows 98 PC What I have done: (1) Follow the instructions on "The Official Red Hat Linux Customization Guide" and config smb.conf (2) Run the test in DIAGNOSIS.txt, failed in step 5. (3) Step 7 is OK, which means local smb client can connect to smbd service and

[LLVMdev] Dynamic Profiling - Instrumentation basic query
Oh, OK. I didn't check the code. I think it only contains your flow tracking analysis code, isn't it. Our 'Giri' project was completely separate from it. Should we merge it with this or keep it as a separate project? -Swarup. ________________________________________ From: John Criswell [criswell at illinois.edu] Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2013 12:12 PM To: Sahoo, Swarup Kumar Cc:

[LLVMdev] Running cross compiled binaries for ARM on gem5
Hi Silky, If I got correctly, you seem to be trying to run a bare-metal image on your model, but you compile with linux-gnueabi GCC. I don't know if that will make a difference, but I'd try to use none-eabi GCC toolchain and set the -target armv7a-none-eabi just in case. Good Morning and Happy New Year to Everyone... My first problem is that my English is not very good, but my actual problem is that I can't see any windows machine from my linux box. Of course, I can see no Linux boxes from windows. I've been following the troubleshoot guide and the diagnosis.txt file and I can do ping to all the machines on the network, but when I try doing

[LLVMdev] Dynamic Profiling - Instrumentation basic query
Hi John and Silky, I can see a copy of 'giri' slicing project branch here http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project/giri/. Though it may be little older, it will work I think. You can look at the code to see how we do the instrumentation. Thanks, Swarup. ________________________________________ From: John Criswell [criswell at illinois.edu] Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2013 10:29 AM To:

Making Linux use nmblookup to transform names into IP addresses
Hello The current network configuration is like this: * We have a few PCs with Linux or Windows XP * Those PCs are interconnected using an Ethernet network * The router to which all PCs are connected also acts as a NAT, which allows access to the internet * The network doesn't have any DNS server (we manually entered the ISP's DNS servers' IP addresses on each

Unable to connect to smb shares from second machine in workgroup
I have a pretty simply home LAN with a Linux box (Mandrake 9.1) and 2 XP boxes. The workgroup is named UNIVERSE and the machines are earth (Linux), voyager (XP) and starbase (XP). (smb.conf has security=user). Voyager can browse over to \\earth\share no problem. Recently I connected starbase to my LAN using a wireless router. When on starbase I cannot browse to \\earth\share. When I do so I
