Joining other Samba-Servers to Samba-LDAP-PDC
Hi Everybody,
we have a Samba-PDC with LDAP support running with:
- Debian Linux 3
- Samba 2.2.7
- LDAP 2.0.36-6
- Hostname: MARLEY-TEST
- Workgroup: TEST
The fileserver is running with:
- SuSE Linux 7.4
- Samba 2.2.1a
- Hostname CLAPTON
Some time ago - without LDAP support - I've just had to create a machine
account on the PDC and type # smbpasswd -j TEST on the fileserver and it
worked.

PAM Module for SMB-LDAP
Hi Everybody,
maybe we are just too stupid, but for me it seems that
there is some problem with holding passwords completely
sync between *NIX-world and WIN-world when I use LDAP
& Samba.
If a user changes a password under Windows, with "passwd chat"
the *NIX-Password (attribute: userPassword) can be changend
very well besides the both Samba-LDAP-attributes lmPassword

Multiple comparison tests - Homogenous subsets (i.e. for Tukey)
Dear all,
is there any possibility to generate a table of homogeneous subsets for
multiple comparison tests as in SPSS with R? I am specially interested
in Tukey's B test.
I have tried to find the answer myself and found an excellent

Issues with FLOCK on NFS Share
Hello,
We are using Samba 4.10.16 as a readonly file server on a linux box with SLES 12. All is working fine with our NAS NFS Shares. We are now trying to integrate new NFS Shares from an archive provider. We have some problems with samba not responding, when accessing files on these archive NFS shares.
We have done some Samba-Debugging and found out, that the call to flock in

but I don't care), except for the whole keyboard, no input possibel. What's
wrong with my Wine instalation? The debug output tells me about a language

samba 3.0.13 tries to find SID of User as sambaGroupMap
Dear List,
while debugging the problem that users cant change file
acls from windows clients, I found out that Samba (ver-
sion 3.0.13 on debian sarge) tries to look up the SID
(of the user who should be added to the acl) as a
sambaGroupMapping in the LDAP.
Does anybody can tell me:
- why samba tries to match a SID of a user as a GroupMapping?
This will never work as a user can never be a

Hi List,
I have some severe problem with Samba 3 with ldapsam

The problem is that I can not change the rights
of a file or directory on the server from Windows.
I get this in smb.log:

Issue compiling Samba 4.11.6 with GNUTLS 3.6.12 (Not standard location)
Hello,
I try to compile Samba 4.11.6 on an old SLES11 machine. There is an old GNUTLS installed.
Since I do not have root access and I have to use a newer GNUTLS-Version, I have installed gnutls-3.6.12 in a different location and set PKG_CONFIG_PATH appropriately. The configure script has run successfully, but when I run make (with verbose option), I get this error:

Shorewall 2.0.5 reports version as 2.0.4
This morning I discovered a problem in the build of 2.0.5 -- the version
number in the install.sh, uninstall.sh and fallback.sh script were not
updated properly. The result is that "shorewall version" returns "2.0.4"
rather than "2.0.5". This problem is present in the .tgz and .rpm files.
I''ve replaced the original .tgz and .rpm files with corrected

2.0.4, still oplock_break failures
Hi!
Even with 2.0.4, I'm still seeing a lot of oplock break failures
(clients failing, see log further down). The client hangs for approx 30
secs (sometimes more) and then gets back online. At least one user can't
use the file shares at all; it hangs whatever he does, and on any
computer he uses (NT or 98, laptop, desktop...) Other users have less
problems, but maybe they are less

Asterisk-Addons 1.6.1.1
Asterisk-Gui 2.0.4

Asterisk "sees" the TDM400P (dahdi show status)
The gui, unfortunately. does not see any analog card, which is rather

Need Advice: 2.0.4 or CVS samba
Hello,
I'm currently running a CVS version of SAMBA w/ PDC support from before
the 2.0.x series release. It has worked well for my needs. Now I'm
wanting to update my NT machines to SP5 which I assume doesn't work with
my version of SAMBA (SP4 doesn't). I couldn't find the answer in the mail
list archives.
So.......
I know 2.0.4 doesn't have "official"

Debian Sid packages available for 2.0.4
for once, I'm not late ;-)
I've just uploaded 2.0.4-1
Give a bit of time to leave the incoming pipe and enter Sid (by
tomorrow), and you'll be able to test these...

NUT 2.0.4 driver for CP1200AVR
I took the modifications from doug reynolds, ported them to 2.0.4, and
tried to make it more generic such that it would work for all old
devices as well as the new CP1200AVR. I don't necessarily like the
implementation because I don't like global vars, but it was what I could
come up with without knowing the architecture better. Hopefully this
will get included into the next version

Unfortunately, I don't have an etch buildroot set up to try this, but it
