Help with quota setting...
Good afternoon, guys!!! I am wondering whom among you already have a quota set for your users? You see, I am finding it hard to get a good combination between the number of inodes to set and the number of blocks to set as well. My ideal setting is at least 15MB to 20MB per user. I am using SuSE 7.0 kernel 2.2.16 using Samba 2.0.7. Any ideas??? Any help regarding this would greatly help...

samba and acl
Hello ! I am using samba 3 with acl support and when I use the "hide unreadable" option, it only take the unix right. Even if they have read or write access given by acls, people have to be the owner of a directory to see it. I don't know if it's realy a bug or if i'm not using it the right way, i simply add it to a share definition. Thanks in advance ! Eric Guimont

FW: setting quota per user
Chris, the way I did the same thing a while back is by running edquota for each user upon creation of their account. From memory there is a switch that allows you to make a user's quota the same as anothers. So I setup a "template" user that had quota the way I liked and then used him as the template for all the other user accounts. I have extracted from the quota mini howto the

Porting plotterm() & gamterms() from s-plus
I'm trying to plot pspline'd explanatory variables from coxph() models as per Therneau and Grambsch (Modeling Survival Data: Extending the Cox Model). They have s-plus functions for this at: http://www.mayo.edu/hsr/people/therneau/book/sfunction/gamterms.s http://www.mayo.edu/hsr/people/therneau/book/sfunction/plotterm.s I'd like to make these plots in R, but they make use of non-R

Limit Rates in more scalable and efficient way
Hello I''m looking for a more efficient way to limit rates to different clients. Right now as I understand it, I have to make a class for every customer/ip-address I''d like to limit bandwidth. This means lots of configuration if i had many customers to setup traffic shaping for. I can filter for ip-ranges, but then all ip''s of that range share the set bandwidth of the

[PATCH 00/45] initial arm v8 (64-bit) support
First off, Apologies for the massive patch series... This series boots a 32-bit dom0 kernel to a command prompt on an ARMv8 (AArch64) model. The kernel is the same one as I am currently using with the 32 bit hypervisor I haven''t yet tried starting a guest or anything super advanced like that ;-). Also there is not real support for 64-bit domains at all, although in one or two places I

Samba 2.2.0 PDC Problem
I've poured through the FAQ and HowTo for setting up my Linux 7.0 system to act as a PDC for my Windows 2000 SP1 clients; however, I continue to get the "Cannot join domain, the credentials supplied conflict with an existing set.." error. Yep, I followed the FAQ for this error, followed it and I still get this error. I'm logging onto the Win2K system as administrator and when I

how to adjust link function in logistic regression to predict the proportion of correct responses in 2AFC task?
I have would like to use logistic regression to analyze the percentage of correct responses in a 2 alternative forced choice task. The question is whether one needs to take into account the fact expected probabilities for the percentage of correct responses ranges between 0.5 and 1 in this case and how to adjust the link function accordingly in R (see details below). Samba, quotas and disk capacity?
Hi Bernd, There have been a lot of improvements in Samba since 2.0.5; I know that the 2.0.7 version is supposed to support unix HFS and VxFS quotas. Also the "with-quotas" option must be turned on at compile time, so perhaps your 2.0.5 version was not compiled "with-quotas"... I tested quotas and the HP 2.0.7 version here and it works the way that Dirk mentions, you will get
