similar to: Samba and quotas

Good afternoon, guys!!! I am wondering whom among you already have a quota set for your users? You see, I am finding it hard to get a good combination between the number of inodes to set and the number of blocks to set as well. My ideal setting is at least 15MB to 20MB per user. I am using SuSE 7.0 kernel 2.2.16 using Samba 2.0.7. Any ideas??? Any help regarding this would greatly help...

Hello ! I am using samba 3 with acl support and when I use the "hide unreadable" option, it only take the unix right. Even if they have read or write access given by acls, people have to be the owner of a directory to see it. I don't know if it's realy a bug or if i'm not using it the right way, i simply add it to a share definition. Thanks in advance ! Eric Guimont

Chris, the way I did the same thing a while back is by running edquota for each user upon creation of their account. From memory there is a switch that allows you to make a user's quota the same as anothers. Hi Bernd, There have been a lot of improvements in Samba since 2.0.5; I know that the 2.0.7 version is supposed to support unix HFS and VxFS quotas. Also the "with-quotas" option must be turned on at compile time, so perhaps your 2.0.5 version was not compiled "with-quotas"... I tested quotas and the HP 2.0.7 version here and it works the way that Dirk mentions, you will get
