Credit Card machines / interop
Hi all, One of the areas I am trying to research before I can confidently start deploying Asterisk is "Credit Card Machines". (PDQ / Streamline machines / any similar) I'm talking about the credit card swipe boxes at point of sale desks. I believe they dial out to the specific bank provider everytime a card is swiped. My question is: - Does anyone have any experience using

ogg123 volume?
Hi, I need to adjust the output volume from ogg123 the same way that mpg123 has the "-f n change scalefactor [32768]" option. I need to do this within ogg123, instead of alternatives that involve pipes, such as piping the output to sox. I do not believe that this is currently possible in ogg123, and I'm looking for some suggestions as to how it can be accomplished by modifying

How to use another attribute than the uid ?
Hi, I use Samba 3.5.4 PDC with ldap backend on a sles10 server with kernel smp 2.6.16.60-0.21. On the ldap, the uid attribute can't be used for reasons beyond my control. So i must use another attribute for the authentication (uidAuth). In order to achieve this, i edited 3 files : => ldap.conf => smb.conf => nsswitch.conf

users on W2k
Hiya I'm using Samba as my PDC, and this is fine for desktops since most of them are still Win98. However, the bosses laptop has W2k and used to work fine under the Novell client. ie there was one user on the laptop and those setting were used when logged into Novell and when not connected to the net. Now, with the domain we seem to be stuck with having 2 users, one the local machine

Help with restrict anonymous = 2
I am trying to lock down Samba's null session accessibility by using the "restrict anonymous = 2" setting but when I configure this option it stops the test XP client from being able to logon in to the domain. "restrict anonymous = 1" allows logins to work correctly but Samba still shows some account information when checking with the GetAcct tool. I am using a Samba

syslinux-6.04-pre2
Hi all, It has been the case for quite a while that the master tree is unambiguously better than 6.03. I have thus tagged and pushed out a syslinux-6.04-pre2 release, however, due to the issues with continuing to keep the main archive on kernel.org, I have moved the release archive to: https://www.zytor.com/pub/syslinux/ Other than the URL, there is no difference from the kernel.org archive.

2.2.3a multiple users from w2k term server denied access
Hiya! Running Samba 2.2.3a on HP-UX 11.0, precompiled binaries from Porting Centre. Everything works fine until we have a customer that wants to put their app on w2k terminal server. When the drives get mapped they are serviced by the same smbd daemon on the UNIX box; this is the same behavior as if you mapped the same drive twice from any windows client. After 2 or 3 users get drives mapped,

syslinux-6.04-pre3 botched
I think I botched syslinux-6.04-pre3. There are two fundamental problems with the build: a) The selection of what pieces of the library gets included in the core is done manually whereas it really should be automatic; b) The build doesn't fail if there are unresolved dependencies between the libraries and the core. I will fix these. (b) is IMO fundamental to avoid this error in the
