Transgamings patch - install
How do I install the DirectX-patch from Transgaming? I run the Wine that
came with Mandrake 7.2. I've tried to run the patches in all the folders
that has something to do with wine. I'm using "patch -p1 < wine-something".
It just says that it couldn't find the file to patch.

Some simple (I hope) questions
I'm new to Samba, and I have a few minor questions for which I need answers
before I start this grandiose adventure in connectivity.
I current have a small home network, consisting of:
(1) Mandrake Linux 9.1 workstation
(1) Windows 2000 Pro workstation
(1) Windows XP Pro file/print server
(1) LinkSys 4-port (ethernet) router
My goal is to be able to use Samba to access the files

DirectX in Wine
I've tried to install the game "Caesar 3" on my Linux-box. It worked fine
during the installation. The problem appeared when I wanted to play it.
Caesar 3 needed the file DDRAW.DLL
I found out that it was one of DirectX's .dll-files. Isn't Wine supposed
to work with DirectX without installing it? Doesn't Wine have its own
"DirectX-clone"?
What should I

I've never been able to get Samba to accept a printer driver for

Hi folks,
I'm having a strange problem with a client for whom I've set up Samba (2.0.7
- packages samba-common-2.0.7-18mdk & samba-2.0.7-18mdk) on a server with
Linux-Mandrake 7.2. The client uses both Win95 and Win98 workstations.
The problem is that there appears to be no password checking at all, i.e a
user with a valid login (i.e. a user in /etc/smbuser) can login without
