last file missing from wildcard searches (3.0.13)
Hi all, We're at the preliminary stages of investigating this, but I can't find any references to it on a Google etc. Anyway. We've just moved from 3.0.6 to 3.0.13 and users report a file being missing. On investigation it turns out that (as far as we could tell in a 5 minute minor panic) the last file in a directory is not included in a wildcard search. (last file is defined

Saving MS Word Documents to a Samba Share from NT
I have installed Samba 2.0.4a on SGIs running IRIX 6.5. My PC is running NT Workstation SP 3. I have a problem saving documents from MS Word 97 SP 1. If I create a new document and attempt to save it to a Samba share I get the following error message: Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error. (G:\XX\TEST.DOC). A listing of the directory from Unix shows the following:

[LLVMdev] Yasm ASM printer
Hi, I've finally got my Yasm instruction printer sorted, and I was wondering if it is something the community would want? With it, it means you can take LLVM IR and generate a .S that can be assembled using Yasm to a window's OBJ for inclusion in normal DevStudio projects. The change set isn't large, but I am unsure of the repercussions of the changes I made. Cheers Matthew

ERROR: can't get smbw shared lock (Bad file number)
Hi, I'm using samba in 2.0.6 in an IRIX 6.5.5 environnement. Everything is working fine. I definetly need to access NT server's files (the reverse approach). I'd love to have ability to use smbfs and/or smbmount, but since these are only released on Linux, and following the attached message advices , I'm trying to resolve my need with smbsh. I remain getting the error message

Samba to Dave 2.5
I'm having a problem with folders shared from Samba 2.0.5a dissappearing and reappearing on a Mac running Dave 2.5. I had the same problem with Dave 2.1 and hoped the upgrade to 2.5 would help. The 2 Samba servers are on a separate subnet on which they are the only machines. One Samba server is set as the local master browser and both use an NT server on the same subnet as the Mac as their

Win95 and mixed case passwords (1.9.18p8)
Hi there, I've just tripped over a problem I thought only existed in WfWg3.11. On Win95 clients connecting to a 1.9.18p8 Samba server (IRIX 5.3) the first logon dialog box seems to have a problem with mixed-case passwords. If I have a lower case password, then I can just enter it in the Win95 'Microsoft Network' logon dialog at startup, and all the shares are reconnected. If I

IRIX cleanup.
Can I get someone from the IRIX group to apply this patch to the 3.0.2pX release and reconfigure/compile. I'm trying to clean out do_child() in perparation of a larger patch to that part of the code. Also if someone could give me the hint for the right compiler magic to wrap the code in instead of what I'm doing now. I'd be thankful. Thanks - Ben diff -urN

FW: R Process Killed out of logical swap space: Case id #259-4945 (PR#7732)
Dear Professor Ripley, I am attempting a large scale mixed-model analysis of longitudinal gene array data using R. I use a 64-bit SGI with 7GB available RAM and 40G logical swap space together with unlimited virual swap space. The OS is IRIX 6.5.24. I use R version 1.9.0 since I have had problems upgrading to R 2.0.1 at 64-bit using native SGI compiler build. I write a serial for (i in

New parsefw
This is from Sean Covel: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- parsefw is a C program to parse Shorewall (netfilter) logfiles and display them in a pretty format similar to the old ipchains format. Some text is added about certain well-known destination ports, and they are linked to a FIREWALL FAQ website for further explaination. The original parsefw.c was

FoxPro and Wine regressions
As much as I think I won't be able to accomplish anything, I keep trying, and I've come across something interesting.. I'm testing my regression by doing the following: - Start the app - Press CTRL-V to paste text into the Command Window (which is the active 'MDI' window - but not really MDI - by default) - Switch to another virtual desktop - Switch back to Foxpro (That makes

two irix patches
First, does anyone know why the following was added in the first place? It purposely strips the tty off of tty names (e.g., ttyq1 becomes q1) before sticking them in wtmp. IRIX then has no idea what terminal people are attached to, causing commands like wall to fail (as they try to open /dev/q1). Maybe this should be version specific? --- openssh-SNAP-20001129.orig/loginrec.c Thu Nov 9

[PATCH] Trusted IRIX Support
I developed a better prototype quicker than I expected. Please provide feedback. It's been a few years since I've used autoconf, so I'm not certain the new defines were integrated correctly. IRIX patch for vorbis *
Hi, after reading the IRIX Digital Media Audio library documentation and starting to code an IRIX output plugin for libao and afterwards realizing there was already one on the CVS tree (almost identical to what I had up to that point, no wonder) and getting the rest of the vorbis tarball to compile under IRIX with the MIPSpro compiler only to find out the plugin was wrong and after going

Irix job limits patch
I've finished the 2.3 patch for Irix job limits. It's a bit longer than a couple of lines. The bulk of the patch changes the configuration files to enable the job limits support on Irix. The meat of the change is in session.c where the new job containter is created at the same point as the other Irix specific actions. - Dennis --- config.h.in Sun Nov 5 21:25:18 2000 +++ config.h.in

IRIX patches
The attached patch adds support for array sessions, project id's, and system audit trail id. Arrays are available at least on UNICOS in addition to IRIX. The project id & audit stuff is IRIX specific. Otherwise, the IRIX support in the current OpenSSHp looks good. (There were some utmp/wtmp oddities, but I think they've gone away in the latest release.) -- Mike Stone --------------

RCMD SHLIB == Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap, Win32 ?
I've been trying to create/load/call a dll from R-1.8.1 on Windows without much success. I've been able to at least load the library on FreeBSD (1.8.1). I've been able to perform this before using DLL that weren't created using RCMD SHLIB, but simply compiling under MS DevStudio.
