auditing/closecmd/smbwebstatus patch updates
I'd like to take a moment to thank the samba team for a painless upgrade from 2.0.2/3 to 2.0.4. configure, make, stop, install, start. It was a joy. Woo woo! I've updated for 2.0.4 the patches for my auditing system, the close command parameter and smbwebstatus. Everything should be accessible at http://www.reac.com/samba/ auditing: http://www.reac.com/samba/samba-audit.html This

Shaping traffic bound for the NAT''ed networks whithout imq
I''m trying to set up a shaper that can shape the inbound traffic to around 40 subnets, that hang on 3 different interfaces of the router. As Linux can''t do ingress shaping I''m left with having to set up 3 seperate shapers, one for each internal interface. This is not completely optimal as I''ll have to limit each of the 3 interfaces to 1/3 of the total

Breakpoints for multiple variables using Segmented
Hi all, I am using the package ?Segmented? to estimate logistic regression models with unknown breakpoints (see Muggeo 2003 Statistics in Medicine 22:3055-3071). In the documentation it suggests that it might be possible to include several variables with breakpoints in the same model: ?Z = a vector or a matrix meaning the (continuous) explanatory variable(s) having segmented relationships with

Controlling access at the Ethernet level
> What would you recommand ? Are there any other elegant solutions ? > How about using 802.1Q vlan's and dedicate a vlan to each port. If more than 4000 users then add more gateways. Just be sure to go for switches that allow you to deny incoming already tagged packets on the user side as some switches passes already tagged packets. For a wireless environment i would suggest PPPoE

Asterisk COLP (COnnected Line Presentation)
Hi, I would just like to know if any work was ever done on COLP or its related cousins? The last evidence of it seems to be about 2 years old when K.Flemming and Olle both showed some mild interest. I am not sure how well that code would apply to today's Asterisk. (I realise that this is sort of a duplicate posting, sorry about that.) Thanks for any feedback. Steve

Asteroid SIP Denial of Service Tool
Asteroid is a SIP denial of service attack tools which affected older versions of Asterisk the Open Source PBX and may affect other products running the SIP protocol. There are thousands of custom (mis)crafted SIP packets which were sent to a older versions of Asterisk that caused errors stopping Asterisk. The packets were crafted based on packetdumps from Wireshark with flags set for

Rd2dvi - script (PR#1029)
Full_Name: Ole Christensen Version: 1.3.0 OS: Solaris Submission from: (NULL) (130.225.48.2) I have discovered a problem with script Rd2dvi for R-1.3.0 on our Solaris machines. When writing R CMD Rd2dvi Name_of_Package, then things go wrong with the conversion to Latex of the DESCRIPTION file in the package. Having discussed the problem with our system administrator, he constructed a script

tc filter add ... fw returns RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument
When I run this: tc filter add dev eth0 parent 1: protocol ip prio 1 handle 1 fw I get: RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument The traditional interpretation of that gnarly error message is that cls_fw is missing, but lsmod | grep cls_fw gets me: cls_fw 2336 4 (autoclean) I can''t remove it because it''s in use, but all 4 statements that use it failed, so

dovecot+LDAP/AD encoding issue
Hello everybody, i have a problem with dovecot+Active Directory as Authentication-Service. I am not able to use special characters (???? (german umlaut)) within a password. Normally I would suggest that the ldap-query is done in UTF-8 but as I debugged the auth-process, I have seen that the password is ISO-8859-1 encoded. The "original" query (from roundcube for example) is UTF-8
