Optmatch Package Question
Hello , My optmatch package is loaded on R and otherwise running fine. I get an error after lcds successfully completes a logistic regression and I then try to obtain a propensity score: pdist <- pscore.dist(lcds) Error: could not find function "pscore.dist" Does anyone know if pscore.dist is part of the optmatch package, or is it contained in another package that I need to

Still fighting the IPv6 client dying...
Well, we're still fighting it, and one thing I've discovered that I find extremely odd: the IPv6 lease file. On my C7 workstation, if I grep -c lease6, I see 5 leases; on a C6 server, I see 9, and in the last few days, I saw my box - they mass restarted the IPv6 clients everywhere yesterday, because a good number of systems had lost the client. Can someone explain why there would be more

OT: hardware: sanitizing a dead SSD?
Anyone have any clues about how to sanitize a dead SSD? We haven't had it yet, but we're sure it's coming. Esp. since I'm a federal contractor, a dead disk gets deGaussed, but what the hell do you do with a SSD?

NT Crashes when doing large network file Xfers (was Re: NT crashes during smbtar)
Ernie, Thanks for the great info.. Based on what you were seeing, would you suspect that part of the problem is with the combination of NT and the 3com card (3c595)? Currently, we are ONLY seeing this under NT Workstation (not server) and almost all of our machines have this same 3com 3c595 card (only if using 100BaseT).. -- Rick -----Original Message----- From: Ernie Oporto

R CMD check: Too long [R] code line generated (PR#1900)
Full_Name: Henrik Bengtsson Version: 1.5.1 OS: WinMe Submission from: (NULL) (217.210.0.243) In the Perl script $R_HOME/bin/check there is a bug under the section "Check R code for syntax errors" where the 'Rfiles <- c(...)' is build up. If there are too many files in @Rfiles the source code line generated will be too long and weird things will happen, e.g. strange

Metadata syntax (was Universal syntax for Markdown)
So, hi all. First time commenting on the list. I personally think having tags (whether of type "author:" or type "by") is useful for two reasons. One: It allows multiple tags to be entered. Two, it clears up the potential problem listed by Fletcher regarding tags. by Christoph Freitag Affiliation: XYZ by Fletcher T. Penney Affiliation: ABC tags: Markdown, Standardization,

Centos 8 minimal install
Hi R C. The resulting installation is smaller than the image that you download through FTP, etc. When I first installed this OS during version 5, I was amazed that the installation took a mere fraction of the time it took to go through the menu. Heh. Anyway, give it a whirl as it?s quick. I?m assuming you mean a headless installation. Oh and I?m top posting because it?s logical.

Extending a vector
I believe this should be an easy thing to do... I have a function I repeatably call which takes input parameters and outputs columns to various data frames. I also wish to keep a summary of certain values as I call the function. I though keeping the values in a vector then appending the vector by the new amounts would be the way to do this. Example: (this is what I want even thought the below

acts_as_tree wierdness with children.count and children.size
i am making a category tree and i iterate over the category using my counter_cache however it would show a different number than what was actually being represetned in the tree. Here is an example cat.children = [cat2, cat3] puts cat.children.size 2 puts cat.children_count 2 cat4.parent_id = cat.id cat4.save puts cat.children.size
