OpLock timeout errors on Samba v2.0.6
We see the following errors that cause the NT 4.0 workstation Word file saves to fail. I have been tweeking the oplock parameters for awhile now. Can't seem to get the right mix. Does anyone see this same problem with older versions or the v2.0.7 version. [2001/03/13 10:43:26, 0] smbd/oplock.c:(973) oplock_break: receive_smb timed out after 30 seconds. oplock_break failed for file

Bug#251046: Bug#251046: logcheck: invalid mktemp -p option
Hello For some reason we have debianutils 1.15 on our system. (Strange; maybe this is from the first woody release, or maybe dist-upgrade didn't upgrade debianutils upon first attempt when I went from potato to woody (in my experience dist-upgrade usually has to be invoked multiple times to do everything); we only upgrade security packages since then.) Thus, sorry for our superfluous

[PATCH] openbsd-compat/mktemp.c: Compile time error with gcc 3.4
Hi, the below patch avoids a compile time error on Cygwin, when using gcc 3.4.x. The #ifdef is superfluous anyway. mktemp
Has this not been changed to mkstemp just for reason of having to change all of the smbd_mktemp() calls, for portability, or some hidden arcana? Are there any platforms that samba supports that don't have mkstemp? -- Blue Lang http://www.gator.net/~blue Unix Administrator Veritas Software 2315 McMullan Circle,

Printing from Linux (Redhat 9) to a win2k shared printer
I'm trying to use a Kyocera-Mita FS-1010 printer conencted on a Win2000 workstation. I can list the shares on the win2k station using smbclient and I can mount shares from it. When I'm trying to print a test page I get the following error: "ERRDOS - ERRbadaccess opening remote file testprint.ps". I am using the postscript driver. I hope someone can give me a hint :). Thanx!

Recommendations for Lexmark Z11 driver install?
I've "inherited" an old Lexmark Z11 and would like to plug it in to my CentOS 4 box as a second printer. I shut down, hooked it up to the parallel port, rebooted, and hwbrowser recognizes it on /dev/lp0, so I ran through setting it up as a queue with printconf-gui. However, printing the test page fails because the renderer "lz11.foomatic" is not found (details below for

James spooling messages problem
For some reason my James setup is creating some kind of spooling queue of sending messages. It will queue 3 of them and then forth ?sent? message will make 1st one to be sent outside. Any thoughts? print spooling message never goes away
I have a Samba server that reports some print jobs "spooling" to the workstations on the network when clients browse it. There are no jobs spooling or printing and it never goes away unless I restart the Samba process. It does come back though and do the same thing. This happens on a few of the 50 queues it's serving. Any ideas? Thanks Greg Samba 3.0.4 Fedora Core 1

Printjob stuck spooling
Hi, I'm trying to remove a printjob that is currently blocking the printque for one of my users. I've tried to access the printer from the user and delete it there, but this doesn't help. Cups does not show the job at all. I therefore tried to access the printspool via sambas net printq command. With net, I can find the job, and the jobid, but when I try to use net rap printq
