Off Topic - Virus
Hello,
I know this is off topic, but I've come to the conclusion that the only
people who can answer my question is other Samba users...
I would like to deploy on our network a centrally administered antivirus
program. We're running Win98 machines doing NT type logins to Samba running
on a RedHat 6.1 box.
It seems that as I have researched antivirus programs which can be centrally

SWAT modification....?
Hi,
I would like to suggest a modification to the SWAT web gui. I have
been successfully using Samba for a few years now at my institution and
it is a great product. We use it here to handle all of our file serving
for around 11,000 users. We have 3 Sun E450's serving up to a 1000
clients
each at any one time with no problems. That's the background, here is my
request. In the SWAT gui

Samba scaling
Andrew,
Did anyone reply to you on this?
By the sounds of things you are running a pair of E450's?
We currently use Samba on about 6 or 7 Sun E450's and E250's, it scales
very well. I have managed to have about 700-800 current clients
connected
from Windows 95 and 98, we also have the about 30-40 NT clients that
connect
regularly. I have found that Samba has scaled uniformly in

Not enough file space reported from application
Hi,
I tried searching the archives on the web site to answer my question, but
for some strange reason, when I go to the search page, it kicks me back to
the main page no matter what... so I apologise if this is a FAQ. I did try!
:-)
I have a share which I'm installing an application to. The program as it is
installing, reports there isn't enough disk space. I know this not true as

Question of the day for SAMBA GURUS!
Hi,
I have a question that I haven't been able to answer from the docs. I
wondered if someone out there has tried to do what I would like to
attempt.
On our server, we have mapped a share called wrkgrps to drive G: Users
then have various directories under drive G: which correspond with their
department, i.e. accounts, personnel, etc. Each of these directories
has a share which I have

Translation of R code required
Dear All
I am a complete novice when it comes to R. I have been sent some code
which I need to run on a dataset. I have downloaded and installed R
but I dont seem to be able to get the code to run.
I was hoping someone on the list would be able to give me a
'translation' of what the code is trying to do and if there appears to
be any errors in it.
The code is;

samba anti virus vfs module: scannedonly-0.11
Dear all,
Scannedonly 0.11 has been released. Scannedonly is a samba VFS module
that ensures that only files that have been scanned for viruses are
visible and accessible to the end user.
The vfs module has a few new options to simulate on-access scanning for
small (fast scanned) files. The clamAV daemon now has automatic database
reloading.
Documentation and downloads can be found at

Kaspersky Anti-virus unable to join Domain
Just a heads up.
I recently built a new (XPSP2) image with the Kaspersky 6.0.3.837 on it.
I had issues joining the domain with the AV running. Had to disable. (A
domain controller for domain ABC could not be contacted.....)
I didn't have AV on my previous image, so I don't know if version 5 did the
same.
I don't recall seeing this on the list, so I thought I would throw it
out....
