btrfs crash (and softlockup btrfs-endio-wri)
I am using NFS over brtfs (vanilla 3.8.5) for heavy CoW to clone virtual disks with sizes 20-50GB. It worked OK for a couple of days, but yesterday it crashed. Reboot fixed the problem and I do not see any data corruption. I have a couple of different kdumps, I will include one as text and attach the other ones. I am using Fedora 18 with vanilla 3.8.5. The filesystem is created over a SAN volume

[PATCH net-next] net: make ndo_get_stats64 a void function
The network device operation for reading statistics is only called in one place, and it ignores the return value. Having a structure return value is potentially confusing because some future driver could incorrectly assume that the return value was used. Fix all drivers with ndo_get_stats64 to have a void function. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <sthemmin at microsoft.com> ---

Statistics appearing in middle of file list -- no errors
Has anybody seen this? We want to seperate the statistics out from the file list, and were using tail to grab the end of the file. the command we run is: rsync -r -a -z --partial --suffix=".backup" --exclude="*.backup" \ --stats -v /. 10.1.1.60::cds101/ > /var/log/rsync.log 2>&1 along with a number of excludes to skip the /tmp, /dev,

Recipe/advice for Samba 4.11 on Ubuntu 20.04 as member server joining Windows Server 2019 AD
Thank you Louis! Unfortunately, I made some mistakes in my last question for which I apologize. And I am sorry but I do not understand you recommendations. Here is a more accurate view of things: To reiterate we have a new Windows Server 2019 AD for authentication and new samba 4.11.6-Ubuntu member server for file sharing (\\proto1) Looking at the wiki page

[PATCH] [resend] net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS
SET_ETHTOOL_OPS is equivalent to : #define SET_ETHTOOL_OPS(netdev,ops) \ ( (netdev)->ethtool_ops = (ops) ) how it makes difference removing this code and replacing with the code mentioned ?
