Samba4 DC with Secondary Questions
Rowland, thank you for the reply. I must have misstated. We have successfully setup our first DC. It works great with DHCP and BIND9_DLZ and updates nicely as it is designed to, kerberos and all. The question is about the second server. Perhaps MY understanding of what I have read on the samba wiki, and others, is different than actual reality. http://bit.ly/2r3IOjt ;) Perhaps if I show

Samba4 DC with Secondary Questions
Hello all. I am currently working on setting an S4 domain to replace our aging samba 3 setup. We have found many answers on the net, in various documentation, but when it comes to setting up beyond one node documentation becomes a little thinner. We are setting up a Primary DC with AD, using BIND9_DLZ, also serving dhcp from Primary, and we want to setup a Secondary that is both a

Hi all I have a 5 machine network with 4 machines running XP Pro SP-1 and one (the server) running Red Hat 9.0 with Samba 3.0.2pre1 Everything seems to run OK except when I try to connect to a shared folder on an XP machine from another XP machine - sometimes this works, sometimes I get "the system cannot find message text for message number 0x in the message file for (the share name)"

Hi, I'm going to scream. I have a "dell-installed" red hat 7.2 build and I have been attempting to get it to join my NT4.0 domain with samba... after getting past the old version of samba that shipped with it and updating to the latest samba from the samba web site, i still can't join my domain.... Here's the kicker: I CAN JOIN a test domain I set up a few weeks ago, NT4.0

[LLVMdev] Vector DAG Patterns
To elaborate, it is not only cumbersome writing these patterns for vectors of 16 characters (v16i8), it does not work. When I compile with this pattern for an andx operation on v16i8: /[(set RC:$dst,// // (and (i8 (vector_extract(vt VC:$src), 0 ) ), // // (and (i8 (vector_extract(vt VC:$src), 1 ) ),// // (and (i8 (vector_extract(vt VC:$src), 2 ) ),// ////(and (i8 (vector_extract(vt

Failure to boot Xen 4.1.2 kernel 2.6.32.40 with Ubuntu 10.04.4
After successful creation of the Xen kernel and entry into grub, whenever I try and boot into the Xen kernel I receive the following error: Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems: - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline) - Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?) - Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?) - Missing modules (cat

Incorrect Example in Samba User Management Documentation
Hi Samba documentation admins, one of the the examples given on this page https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/User_and_Group_management is incorrect and probably should be updated. Missing Files/Missing Folders from an NFS Share
By the way, there is nothing special about an AWS EFS share as far as I can see. It is just basically an NFS share. The answer some others were saying about Samba sharing the folder out from the NFS server isn?t possible. In AWS there is no access to the server behind EFS other than the NFS share itself. EFS has to be mounted as NFS. No other protocols are supported (eg CIFS or AFS). Anyway the

Fullscreen support on dual head with virtual desktop
Is there a way to force the fullscreen property on wine virtual desktop? Since i'm running dual head with xinerama I usually run some applications in fullscreen on one monitor (like remote desktop) while still being able to use the second monitor Until recently I ran wine this way too, since a legacy hack in compiz fusion made it fullscreen, but an upgrade "fixed" the bug I had

I recently upgraded to 2.2.3a ( from source) and since then I cannot see any of the clients in the "network neighborhood". I cannot even see the workgroup under the "entire network". All clents are
