Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific, I am printing from linux
to a printer attached to a win98 computer. When I say text I mean when I
send a text file directly to the printer such as 'lpr -P BJC
<file.txt>'. When I say 'hang' what I mean is that the printer prints all
the text as it should then fails to eject the last page and then goes off
line. When I push

smbmount questions
Howdy all:
I'm trying to use smbmount to mount a win9x share and copy some files for backup, eventually to run as a script invoked via cron.
I have RH6.1/samba 2.0.5a, and the windoze box is win95b. If I do the standard mount (smbmount //winbox/backup /mnt/smb04) I have to be root. Also, after it's mounted, I can't create any files there as a normal user (even though the

update on browsing problems
Hi all:
After a little more ad hoc testing (and looking at the log files
again) I have a little more info, though not a solution yet. I'm
starting to get the feeling that it's something obvious I've
missed...
After restarting samba, the nmb log shows this:

BJC-2100 printer not printing correctly
First, thanks for the great work done on Centos 4.1. Recently installed
on two systems that previously were running Windows 98 and Windows ME.
(The user of the Windows ME system has no problems so far.)
I was very surprised when Centos 4.1 recognized and automatically
configured the BJC-2100 printer connected to the USB port during
install.
The only problem encountered so far is poor

Unable to access shares on a Linux Samba server
Hello everyone,
I did alot of searching before I came to post here, but have failed to
come up with a reason why this isn't working. I may just be missing a
major step. First, let me get the formailities out of the way.

Printing via smbclient to Windows BJC-2100 printer
I've seen variations on this problem in the past but they haven't seemed
to help much in this instance. I have Samba running on a
NetBSD(sparc) and would like to set it up to print to a Canon BJC-2100
running on a networked Windows ME machine. (My sparc box lacks a
'standard' parallel interface and I lack an adapter). I can print just
fine to the printer from a second Windows

samba, ncurses, and sysV printing?
Dear SAMBA Group,
I've playing around with getting SAMBA to do things for me.
I have an Ultra-1 running Solaris 2.6 and a Win-XP system with
a Canon BJC-2000 printer attached to it.
I'm trying to get the SUN to print to the printer on the XP box.
I have followed various instructions but now when I print as "root"
with "lp -d bjc <file>" I get an email message

win95 client problems (registry limitation?)
Howdy:
I'm new to this samba stuff, but I've run across a problem that
doesn't seem to be documented anywhere.
It seems that OSR/2 clients (with all the M$ system updates; I
already added the EnableClearTextPassword key) that have had their
TCP/IP settings tweaked in the registry (eg, MaxMTU=576, TTL=32,
RWIN added, etc) for DUN connections have mucho problems with a

PAM authentication failure?
Howdy:
Can anybody explain why /var/log/messages is filled with the
following?
Aug 18 09:37:53 rama PAM_pwdb[28483]: 1 authentication failure;
(uid=0) -> arnold for samba service
Aug 18 09:38:25 rama PAM_pwdb[28494]: (login) session opened for
user arnold by arnold(uid=0)
The first one happens every time I browse to rama from win95
Explorer; the second one is from a telnet login

This will bring up the util that will do what you want. Click ADD and select
Remote Unix (lpd) Queue and click OK.
Enter the Queue name and hit TAB - this will automaticall chamge the spool

Grandstream GXP2160 + SRTP
Hello,
I am trying to setup a Grandstream GXP2160 IP-phone with secure calling
(SRTP).
Secure signaling SSIP for registration is working great !
I follow this guide :
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Secure+Calling+Tutorial
But when I try to make a call with SRTP, I get stuck. There is an
initial INVITE which is anwered with a 401. There should follow a new
INVITE with a nonce,
