NT Primary Controller problems.
I have Samba running on a Linux platform and I used to have my NT
V4.0 Primary Domain Controller successfully mounting Samba shares.
Acouple of days ago, I installed NT V4.0 service Pak3 and I.E.
V4.0 to my Primary Domain Controller. Everytime I try to connect to a
Samba share on my NT machine, I now get this error: "The Account is not
authorized to login from this station" .

Want to contribute to SAMBA Doc : NT,PDC, Problems, etc...
Hi all,
Like certainly many members of those lists (SAMBA's list), I would like to
contribute to SAMBA project. The main reason is because when you write
something you must absolutely be familiar with the subject. It will give me
oportunity to be (more) familiar with some kinds of SAMBA Spec.
Since I read samba mailling list, many questions are post about SAMBA PDC,
BDC, etc, interaction

Windoze workstation hangs accessing certain files on the Samba Share.
I'm configuring Samba 2.0.3 for win95/98 clients (~20 workstations) and
everything was going great for the first 10 or 12. Now when I access
certain subdirectories of my share from the Win machine, everything
nearly hangs. I say nearly because the mouse will still move sort of. It
creeps along at about a pixel a second. It continues to get worse until
I just have to cold boot the workstation.

NT User Account Locked Out By Samba
I am currently using Samba on several unix servers, and have numerous users
accessing them from NT workstation machines. I have my samba security set equal
to DOMAIN. And I have successfully added the unix servers to the domain and
created the domain accounts. The problem I have is not a constant problem, but
it is a major inconvenience. Sometimes, when a user attempts to access the samba
share,

R-beta: Dec alpha
R ran find on our Sun until it was stolen. I have now set up R on one of
our Dec Alphas OSF1 V4.0 386. R-0.49 configures builds and runs fine
except that the glm command crashes R. R-0.60.1 configures builds and
runs until a cis entered. I think the problem is the floating point
conventions but before I get in over my head a question
Has anyone used glm successfully on Alphas OSF1 V4.0 386?

File Corruption in NT workstation but not Win95
Hi again folks...
Just when I thought I had everything working great with samba mounts on an
AIX 4.3 machine (after a lot of testing with a Win95 box), I went to do
something quickly on a NT 4.0 workstation.
I had some intallation programs in the shared directory that I had used to
install programs on the Win95. No problem.
I ran over to my boss' NT 4.0 workstation, opened the shared

NT 4 workstation joining Samba domain
Samba 3.0.21b with LDAP backend
The transfer to the Sanba hosted domain appears to work, ie success message,
but I can't log on to a domain account from that workstation, complains
about missing machine account or incorrect password.
Only NT4 workstations seem to be a problem, Win2k and XP are Ok.
NT4 is maximally patched, updated and etc - no registry hacks however.
I checked the LDAP

Files and printer sharing at Win 9x and Win NT Workstation
Hi Guys,
I'm having some problems with my domain, I'm running Samba at a Debian
Box as PDC for a Win NT Workstation Lab, a Win95 Lab and some W98
boxes. I also run Samba in Solaris 2.6 , the both work just fine, but I
can't share printers, disks, or files, since I can't see the users list.
(this happens with the both: Solaris'Samba and the Debian's Samba).
If I try to

How *exactly* does the file caching mechanism work?
jiva,
in some ways this question, or at least the answer, is best seen on
samba@samba.anu.edu.au not just on samba-technical. i don't recieve the
samba digest, so don't know if you've posted it there.
so. question. by "workstation" in paragraph 4, do you mean the
"workstation smb client-side cacheing, which means opportunistic
locking" or do you mean "the

there are bugs in it. you'd be better off using the BRANCH_NTDOM version.
see the public cvs instructions in http://samba.anu.edu.au/cvs.html and
use a tag of BRANCH_NTDOM.
if you do this, the workstation trust account smbpasswd

nfsvers and nfs-utils-1.3.0-0.48.el7
We encountered a weird problem today, and I thought some of you might
like to hear the solution.
The underlying change was listed in the 7.4 changelog, so it's not a
bug, but it may drive you buggy.
The majority of our HPC cluster nodes run CentOS 7, though the exact
patch levels vary from node to node. None is older than 7.3, but a few
newer nodes were kickstarted right to 7.4.

SIP Witch
Is anyone out there using SIP Witch in conjunction with Asterisk? It claims to be able to "enhance existing IP-PBX solutions such as Asterisk", so maybe it can be used as a simple means to provide secure/encrypted calls.

NT - Not allowed from this workstation
I am the sysadmin in an office with an overabundance of Win95 machines and
a few NT 4.0 workstations. All installs went relatively easy for logon
scripts, wins, etc. I have run into a semi-serious problem with 2 of the
3 NT workstations. (All running the same service pack - 1).
When trying to make a share from one of the 2 remaining workstations, I
will recevie an error message saying that:
