Feature report
Hi Guys,
We are having the weirdest problem with all SAMBA version 2.05 to
2.07pre 3
SAMBA is running on DEC UNIX 4.0F
For no reason that we can see
some users are no longer being allowed to connect to their shares.
We see the problem with WIN95, 98 2000 (all plain passwd)
Let me explain more clearly
If I map netowrk drive //joequimby/naismith
my own user and passwd are not recognised

[POSSIBLE FRAUD] Re: [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite INTERNET750U instant commands ?
Ok thank's for your time David, the PSUs, I have two old ones, are working
very well. I simply put in new batteries and on they go :-). I'm using the
PSUs mostly to secure my Raspberry PIs, which are notorious to fail (SD
card) on power failures. Bye, jrb.

Thank's David, really appreciate your answer, and your time. Just a yes or
a no, can I upgrade the firmware on this UPS ?
Cheers

Calling Java in Rails (JRuby, jrb, yajb) - real-world experience?
Hi,
I''d be interested to hear from people who have used either JRuby or one
of the Java-Ruby bridges like jrb or yajb to call out to Java classes
from Rails.
Which bridge did you use, how did it work out? Which one do you
recommend?
Is anybody running Rails on JRuby on a production server, or is Rails
on JRuby still to experimental for that?
Thanking you in advance,
Elmar

[POSSIBLE FRAUD] Re: [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite INTERNET750U instant commands ?
Hi Jean-Roch,
No. There is no user-facing firmware update process available.
If there are any particular commands you're interested in on a newer unit, I can look them up.

[LLVMdev] Dataflow analysis based optimisations
I'm working on an LLVM-based compiler for a very closure-centric
language. It's becoming apparent that it's going to suffer heavily from
garbage collector churn, as all the useful programming idioms the
language makes possible are going to involve memory allocations, either
to create objects or to allocate storage for upvalues.
However, it's possible to optimise away a lot of heap

[EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite INTERNET750U instant commands ?
Thanks. Looks like an older SKU, so I'll look into it when I am back in the office later this week.

[LLVMdev] Dataflow analysis based optimisations
There are passes which mark function parameters as "nocapture", which
means that the function does not store the passed-in pointer for use
after that function returns. If pointers to a newly created object
are only ever passed through "nocapture" parameters, never stored in a
global, and not returned from the function, then that object is dead
when the function that created

Tripp Lite INTERNET750U instant commands ?
Hello List members,
Are there any other commands available for this UPS, I've been searching
without success...
I know I use an old UPS, and when I do: "upscmd -l pbx at 192.168.1.18" for
instance, I get the answer: "Instant commands supported on UPS [pbx]:
shutdown.return - Turn off the load and return when power is back"
If I send this command it works, shutdowns

[POSSIBLE FRAUD] Re: [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite INTERNET750U instant commands ?
After a quick glance, it looks like that older version of the INTERNET750U supports only a few controls Shutdown of the inverter, cancelling that shutdown, setting the delay for the shutdown timer, and enabling/disabling a USB watchdog function.
My *guess* is that Network UPS Tools is just exposing the shutdown command as one command.
Does that help?

32/64bit locking problem with 2.2.2
Hi there,
I have a quite ugly problem with a Samba server. The server is
running Linux 2.4.13 and Samba 2.2.2. The NFS-client is running
Linux 2.4.5. The windows homedirs are on \\server\username, the
UNIX homedirs are NFS mounted by the server.
So, whenever I access \\server\username this actually NFS-mounts
/nfs/client/home/username. I now have one client machine that
causes the following

Others on the list may have quicker answers, but I can look into this a bit when I am back in the office.
What driver are you using?
Can you provide the SKU portion of your serial number?

Invalid key given to dptr_close / NT error 3013
Hi everybody,
although I'm not a member of this list, I'd like to address the
following problem here. Maybe someone is familiar with
it or knows how to solve it. He or she would save my sanity.
We have a samba 2.05a server on a solaris 2.6 box. It works as file
and program server. Once or twice a day some of our clients
receive a redirector timeout, error code 3013. The error message

24G running on centos 5 desktop.
Hi All,
Thought I would let those that are interested know that I had success in
running 24G on an Asus P6T with 24G kit of Kingston DDR3. While I was
putting this together I saw lots of forum posts asking if anyone had tried
it. Well we did here at our work and all looks great including running
"memtest86" overnight.
I have a fluid dynamics simulation running on it with 90% memory

EXT4 mount issue
Hi All,
When a couple of EXT4 filesystems are mounted in a server I get the
message
Oct 1 18:49:42 sraid3 kernel: EXT4-fs (sdb): mounted filesystem without journal
Oct 1 18:49:42 sraid3 kernel: EXT4-fs (sdc): mounted filesystem without journal
in the system logs.
My confusion is why are they mounted without a journal? They were both
created with
mkfs -t ext4 /dev/sdb
mkfs -t ext4

Hi,
Since upgrading to "2.6.18-194" I am getting odd messages in the logs.
Such as;

The output from

Samba and FoxPro
Is Samba (1.19) incompatible with FoxPro? We have tried to network a
database package (FoxPro is the underlying DBMS) by putting it in a Samba
share. The database starts up and you can browse the tables, but it looks
as though FoxPro's record locking system causes the entire share to be
locked, so that further access to the shared drive (both in FoxPro and in
the Windows98 Explorer) is
