Samba & subnets
Hi
We have two subnets with routing tables correctly set up so they can both
ping to our Sun Solaris Box.
193.71.221
191.9.211
The Sun Solaris box lives on 193.71.221.1 and all PCs on that subnet can map
to the Sun box without any problems. All PCs on the 191.9.211 cannot
connect to the samba drives giving the error "Network not Found". Any help
would be much appreciated.
Thanks

tar problem
Hello.
What do you suggest I should do if I wanted to mount a lot of windows-shares
onto a linux machine and do a single tar backup on all the windows files onto a
linux tape drive.
There is NO free harddisk space on the linux machine, and it is only possible
to store ONE backup session on the tape.
I can only use smbtar for one client at a time, as I understand it. Please tell

Computer doesn't boot with new 6.4 kernel
Yesterday a upgraded a machine that I have from Centos 6.3 to 6.4, but
it doesn't boot with the new kernel (2.6.32-358). Right after grub the
screen shows a distorted image, a bit like war of the ants but static,
and nothing more happens. With the old kernel (2.6.32-279) it boots
fine. The motherboard is a Asus E45M1-M Pro. There's no separate
graphics card, but I use the one on the

Software Collections
What's CentOS's policy on keeping up with RHEL software collections
releases? It looks like just the 1.0 release is available on CentOS. 1.1,
1.2, and 2.0 have been released on the RHEL side.
Is there anything I can do to help with this effort?

Force delta transfers on rsync?
Is there a way to force rsync to perform delta-transfers even on local
drive-to-drive copies?
The reason I ask is that I've started using a USB flash drive as a
medium for "poor man's off-site backup". Rsync does a beautiful job on
avoiding overwrites of unchanged files, but it would be even better if
it only rewrote the portions of large files that had actually changed

First boot asterisk -vvvvvgcn segfaults
Hello all,
I have recently finished compiling and making asterisk on a fresh
slackware 13 machine. I went through and made sure to install ncurses,
zlib, openssl, libnewt, libpri, and dahdi prior to compiling asterisk.
I configured with this:
$ ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-threads=posix
--target=i486-slackware-linux --host=i486-slackware-linux
Now that I thought Asterisk was ready to go,

2.2.x Printing from Win2k-more clues
I've discovered a couple of things while
troubleshooting my printer setup problems.
1. print$ must be 0744. I ran a level-3
debug, and was seeing "chmod failed" errors.
Upping it to level-10, I saw something that
pointed to unix rights of 0744; my dir's were
set to 0755 or 0777...neither worked. When I
set print$ and it's subdir's to 0744,
the chmod errors went away.

TC in Wireless Environment
Hi,
Has anyone used TC in a wireless environment, which is dynamic. I understand
that the parameters for queuing are static and cannot be changed unless the
queuing discipline is deleted and reloaded with different parameters.
If anyone can share any experience, that would be helpful.
Thanx.
Azim.
