Samba2.0.6 tgz compile questions.
After fighting with trying to rebuiled my src.rpm file. I decided to use a plain old fashion compile from the tar files. which worked ok, no settings changed. at about 11pm last night I finished and noticed a few things that made me a bit uneasy. 1) all the Samba bin files were installed in /usr/local/samba/.. 2) no smb.conf file was created. I used ./configure, make , make install when I

swat, samba2.0.6, slackware
Hi, I have installed SAMBA 2.0.6 on Slackware 7.0.After minor troubles with differences of SAMBA 2.0.5a package the SAMBA itself seems to work O.K. But SWAT doesn't work at all. After authentication in web browser IE5.0 I only get an error message. As to /etc/inetd.conf I have changed the line for swat properly. Can someone help me ?

samba printing on NetBSD 1.4.1
Hi Folks, I recently set up a samba server 2.0.5a on a NetBSD 1.4.1 box. I have (I think) a very simple setup: one share and one printer. The share configured below (tmp) works fine. I can see the printer in the win95 Network Neighborhood, but when I try to print a test page, I get "windows cannot find the printer" on the Win95 side, and nothing on the samba side. With the smb.conf

patch for netbsd
attached please find patches to make vorbis kit (2000/8/18 daily tar.gz) to compile on netbsd. we need more tests and cleanups (like moving -lossaudio into AC_CHECK_LIB() in configure.in), but it should be good as starting point. thanks. itojun PS: i'm not on the list. if possible please cc: to me. $NetBSD: patch-aa,v 1.1.1.1 2000/08/17 16:56:18 itojun Exp $ ---

[PATCHES] NetBSD support, authentication buffer size
Hi Here are a few unintegrated patches, just tested against 2.2rc7: 1) NetBSD's getmntinfo uses struct statvfs while other BSD use struct statfs http://ftp.espci.fr/shadow/manu/patch-ak 2) NetBSD 5.x net_getunixcred() support. Build on NetBSD, but not tested (I am testing on NetBSD 6.0): http://ftp.espci.fr/shadow/manu/patch-src_lib_net.c 3) Increase authentication buffer size so that it

[agc@NetBSD.org: CVS commit: src/crypto/external/bsd/openssh/dist]
Hi, I applied the following minor diff to preserve the value of the extern variable across calls to process_sign_request2() in ssh-agent.c. I've no idea if the attachment of the attachment will come out correctly so a cvs diff is also attached. Regards, Alistair -------------- next part -------------- An embedded message was scrubbed... fixes for quota support on NetBSD
Hi! dovecot-2.2.13 already has quota support for NetBSD, but it's buggy. The attached patches by Manuel Bouyer <bouyer at NetBSD.org> fix the issues. There is one thing that's not nice in them: one include is now for "/usr/include/quota.h" since dovecot comes with its own file "quota.h" which is earlier in the search path. Perhaps dovecot's copy can be

Asterisk on NetBSD
I was reading on the wiki that Asterisk runs very solid on NetBSD. Can anyone comment? What is the definition of solid? Who is running Asterisk on NetBSD and which version of Asterisk are you running? Also, I know there is limited support for Digium cards on NetBSD, but is there any support at all? Would a TE410P work in NetBSD? I want to build a very simple VoIP to TDM gateway. My idea

[PATCH] support for NetBSD 6.0 libquota
Hi NetBSD 6.0 introduced a new improved quota subsystem and an unified API (libquota) to handle the new and old quota implementation. dovecot is unable to use the new quota implementation right now, and will even fail to build with the old quota API on NetBSD 6.0: Here are dovecot patches to support NetBSD libquota: http://ftp.espci.fr/shadow/manu/dovecot-libquota.tgz -- Emmanuel Dreyfus

Patch to make pre19 work with NetBSD
The pre19 code assumes that struct lastlog either exists in lastlog.h or isn't there. On NetBSD, struct lastlog is defined in utmp.h. Even worse, the non-lastlog code in login.h is terrible on NetBSD (since NetBSD doesn't have a ut_type struct member). With the patch below, openssh will compile and run on NetBSD again. Samba 4.1.7 Compile on NetBSD/amd64 - 6.1.4
I have a brand new NetBSD machine I am building to replace an existing one that is retiring. The current server runs an old version of Samba and I would like to upgrade this machine to something newer. The machine has basic NetBSD on it and that is about it (ie. very little if any customization to the out of the box configuration). I know NetBSD is probably not a mainstream platform for your

libdl and building under NetBSD
I am trying to configure vorbis-tools-1.0beta. (I already built libvorbis, libao, and libogg.) This is under NetBSD 1.5.1_ALPHA i386. My plan is to create NetBSD packages for Ogg Vorbis. My config.log has: configure:1897: gcc -o conftest -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib/ -L/usr/pkg/emul/linux/ conftest.c -L/usr/local/lib -lao -ldl 1>&5 /usr/bin/ld: cannot

compiling samba-2.2.3a on free-netbsd finally solved - summary
dear list, compiling samba on Free-/Netbsd works fine now. Thanks to ALL who helped me out !! Several people told me to delete the -lresolv line (11891) in the configure script. I did that but configure script was still bleating and bleating. Finally I think that it was a linker problem. On NetBSD I found out that I had neither /etc/ld.so.conf nor ldconfig. R-1.5.0 on NetBSD (PR#1565)
NetBSD 1.5ZA on intel There is a problem with the R-1.5.0 compile under NetBSD caused by a non-standard zconf.h in NetBSD. The configure script quite happily accepts the installed zlib.h, but because the NetBSD zconf.h substitutes the OF macro by an __P macro (in zconf.h) the make fails when trying to compile dounzip.c with many errors like: In file included from dounzip.c:28: unzip.h:114:
