Patch for relocatable installs
I remember seeing a patch here a long while back that I thought was going
to be committed for making the install relocatable (i.e. allowing for a
DESTDIR to be specified during a "make install"). I can't find it, and I'm
not sure I am remembering correctly, anyway, so here is a shot at it.
Tested both the install and uninstall, run as "make install

samba-2.2.5 -- a minor "make install" problem and 2 suggestions
Hi,
I would like to ask you to consider the attached patch for inclusion into
the next samba release. The patch addresses the following three points:
1. 'make install' with VPATH fails at one point
( $(srcdir)/script/findsmb vs. script/findsmb )
2. support for 'make DESTDIR=<somewhere> install' (e.g. to build a binary
package)
3. support for 'configure

pre2.0.7 disk quota bug
Hi all,
SAMBA pre2.0.7
./configure --with-quotas
Linux 2.0.36
The old disk quota bug is still here. If user tries to write the file
to SAMBA share and disk quota is exceeded, SAMBA fills remaining space
within the target file with spaces, and writes it to the share. This
is "xcopy" behavior. If the program writes small chunks of file, the
result may differ. The user is under

pre2.0.7 disk quota bug:
Since an 'over-quota' or 'disk-full' message is being sent from
Samba to
the client, it seems obvious that the client _should_ be passing this info.
on to the user -- but it isn't. One possible way to get this info. to the
client is for Samba to call a shell script similar to the 'preexec' options
if
quota is exceeded. The script could then invoke smbclient to send a

Sorry if this is going to be one of those 'idiot' questions, but I don't
use Samba. It has always been on our server, chugging along beautifully
so no on ever had to touch it... Well, we consolidated servers and moved
everything to another server with HP-UX 10.20 (the previous server had
the same HPUX version so I thought I was in the clear), the samba
version is samba-1.9.18p2. I

NO DNS zone information found in source domain, not replicating DNS
I am trying to join a Fedora Linux box running Samba 4.1.5 to a Windows
Server 2000 domain controller as an additional domain controller. I should
mention that our realm is the same as our domain name, adi.com. This is a
15 year old mistake. And the Windows DC does not have all of our machines
listed. To work around that I have delegated _msdcs, _sites, _tcp and
_udp to the Windows DC with name

domain controller as an additional domain controller with the command:

The messages indicated that this was mostly sucessfull with the exception
of the message:

Bug in X86 assembler?
You can't use mov.
I am not an x86 expert, but after quick googling:
Recall that immediates are normally restricted to 32 bits. To load a larger constant into a quad register, use
movabsq, which takes a full 64-bit immediate as its source
[https://www.lri.fr/~filliatr/ens/compil/x86-64.pdf]
Even in your example, assembler replaces mov by movq, which, say, hints:

moving folders bug - rc4
I am fairly new to dovecot...
I had a user who in outlook tried to move one of the folders into
another folder but it crapped out.
User tried to move "Djans*" folders into Koi folder. The subscription
seems to show the folder move but the actual data is still under
".ClickEats.Clients.Djans" instead of ".ClickEats.Clients.Koi.Djans*.
How do I fix this?
Thanks.

[LLVMdev] [patch] set AssemblerDialect
On Wed, Oct 3, 2012 at 1:19 AM, Jim Grosbach <grosbach at apple.com> wrote:
> What's the use case?
the use case is that we can print out the assembly using alternative dialect.
currently, on Intel machine, the default dialect is AT&T, and we
cannot change that to Intel syntax without using cl:opt.
the new public method lets us change the dialect without having cl:opt involved.
