Printing to a Jet Direct card
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi Everyone,
Will samba handle printing to a printer connected to the network with
a jet direct card. I currently print to a locally connected laser
jet 4 plus and need to add a color printer as well. Will samba
handle printing to an IP address or is the only solution to try and
add another parrallel port. I am running RH 6.1 and Samba 2.06. I

HP supporting samba
In the web it states HP does support samba and there is
a link. Following this link I read nothing about samba,
it may be wrong.
Can someone point me to the right link please ?
This is very very important for me.
Thank you.

job fails to print via samba 2.2.6-pre1 - lpd ASCII a nd postscript test works fine...
Ah, it appears that I have confused myself...
I indeed have ALL of the queues defined as JetDirect with the model
specific driver selected in printconf.
With this combination I am telling linux to modify the job [via the filter]
and then pass it as a RAW [jetdirect] where I SHOULD just have the queue
define as JetDirect with a RAW as the driver and let the job go as
transmitted by the client

syslog with PID
Hi,
LOG_NDELAY is the only option for openlog() in dovecot 1.1.2.
Wouldn't be
LOG_NDELAY|LOG_PID as option parameter much more useful?
Without logging
the pid, it is impossible to match 'Disconnected' log entries and the
corresponding session start/login. Therefore I suggest to use
LOG_NDELAY|LOG_PID
in the options of i_set_failure_syslog() at all 6 occurrences which passes
it

[LLVMdev] Building lld with Visual Studio 2012 RC
OK thanks a lot Michael Spencer!
After getting your latest commit now everything compiles on Visual Studio
2012 RC. I'm just playing around to learn.
Maybe this is the funniest place to start assessing my possibilities of
contributing to llvm in the free time:
Writer* createWriterPECOFF(const WriterOptionsPECOFF &options) {

compute probabilities on a Bayesian Network
Deal R Users,
I'm trying to find out how can I compute probabilities on a Bayesian
Network using R. The Bayesian Network I modelled is shown at
http://www.dsr.inpe.br/~mello/1727/BNgrapmodel.png and I'd like to know
how can I proceed (commands on R) to answer questions like: (1) what is
the probability of S=T given C=T, L=T, R=F, H=F and D=F; or (2) what is
the probability of S=T

How can I include a new book on the "Books" link at R-project.org ?
I've just published a new book for R beginners in Portuguese:
"Conhecendo o R: uma vis?o estat?stica" (something like "Knowing R: an
statistical approach"). I'd like to include it on the list "Books" at
R-project.org. How can I do it?

Plotting Dendrogram Help Getting Plot to Display Neatly
I have done a cluster analysis doing:
1-clusNorth <-hclust(dist(Artorious)^2, method="ward")
2-clusNorth$labels <-Artorious$Name ## to show the case names and not
numbers
3-dend1 <- as.dendrogram(clusNorth)
4-plot(dend1)
My Dendrogram is now showing the names of my cases in the dataframe on
the x axis

Howdy,
Referencing the below exchange:

I am still getting the same warning ("non-integer #successes in a

Unwanted carriage returns storing dataframes with dbWriteTable
If I save a dataframe with a character-typed last column to a relational
database with dbWriteTable, the values in the last column of the
resulting table in the database will have a '\r' (carriage return)
appended. If I read back the dataframe with dbReadTable the last column
in the resulting dataframe has also '\r' appended (see protocol below).

[LLVMdev] Building lld with Visual Studio 2012 RC
Hi!
I'm trying to build lld Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 RC, but it seems the
bzero function is not available.
Could memset be used instead of bzero? Or maybe define a bzero for msvc
using memset.
For example:
// in-memory matches on-disk, so copy first fields followed by path
::memcpy(to, (uint8_t*)&cmd, 12);
::memcpy(&to[12], _name.data(), _name.size());

Winbind slow to authenticate
Finally got winbind to work, thanks for all the help.
I wonder if it is normal for winbind to take approximately 20 seconds to
authenticate a user?
In smb.conf I have specified the names of all NT BDCs and PCD but it didn't
change performance. And in pam.d/samba I have only auth and account required
pam_winbind.so
One more thing, does anybody have any hints on how to have Apache
authenticate

I’m trying to install R Commander under Mac OSX Mountain Lion (10.8.2). After following all the steps described in the installation notes (http://socserv.socsci.mcmaster.ca/jfox/Misc/Rcmdr/installation-notes.html), I got this error message:
