disabling swat during compile
Howdy folks, I am compiling 2.2.8 from source on a Caldera Openlinux 2.3 box
to replace the 2.0.x version that is there. I do NOT want to use swat at all.
How do I stop it from being compiled/installed? The only swat related
configure switch I could find is where to put the swat stuff, but nothing to
disable it period.
TIA

server shares and password with win2k clients
Note: I am asking this question on the samba list also..
I have a samba server with a network of Win2k clients in workgroup mode. Each
machine is setup to use netbios over tcp/ip and use the samba server for Wins
Resolution (there are a couple of Win9x boxes on the network).
Now the problem is this, the username/password credentials on the samba box
are different from the username/password

speaking of sieve scripts... how to selectively not send vacation autoreply
Don't need to block anyone like in the "Re: Dovecot Oy merger with
Open-Xchange AG" thread, but when I have my vacation recipie active, I'd like
it to NOT reply to certain addresses.
I tried the following, you can see the section with
if header :contains "addressIdontwant at repliedtoo.tld"
is commented out, once I'd added that section, no Vacation messages

syncml with server push email
Any recommendations for server push email using syncml and dovecot?
I am familiar with Funambol for syncing pim info, but not used it for email.
Are there any recommended opensource or commercial syncml servers that are
known to integrate nicely with Dovecot 1.x? Googling hasn't really turned up
much in the way of useful info.
To mix it up a little, I was using Funambol for the Pim

Hello folks, this looks about the only place I can find on issues dealing
with the subject line. The message that got me posting is included below the

Problems with Intel Netport Printserver and Samba
Running RH6.0 I am able to print just fine from linux, the problem now is
getting smb printing working. I am using an Intel Netport Express PRO/100
printserver. Previous to my upgrade from RH5.2 when I had the printer
directly connected to the samba server, I was able to print just fine from
the windows client machines (not using the raw method)
My /etc/printcap is as follows

pid and lock dir during compile
I am compiling 2.2.8 on a Caldera Openlinux box that was running 2.0.5 or
some such. It already has a working config and uses samba.d dirs for it's
files:
/etc/samba.d
/var/lock/samba.d
/var/log/samba.d
etc
During compile I use following switches
--with-piddir=/var/lock/samba.d
--with-lockdir=/var/lock/samba.d
However the pid files are ending up in /var/run/samba instead of

asterix and phone system
I am currently looking at putting together an Asterisk PBX system for my home
office. One of the things I need is an expandable 2-line corded/cordless
phone system.
If I wasn't using Asterisk, I'd be getting one of these AT&T systems with 2
extra handsets.

I'll want to replace my Talkworks/WinfaxPro based voicemail system with an

samba and vfs deleted items folder
Okay, early this year I setup a samba server for a small non profit, they are
running XP on the desktop and I have things setup so that all their data and
outlook info is stored on the server. We do daily backups to tape, this works
great. A couple of months ago, someone had created an important file and
deleted it on the same day, so it wasn't backed up, at that point I setup the

Problems with viewing directories on mapped network drive
Got a bit of an odd one folks....
I have a samba 2.3 server running on a Caldera Openlinux 2.3 box, it works
great except for one thing that I am not sure whether is the issue of the
application or a Samba one. It appears to be an application issue, but I
can't help thinking there may be some other factor(s) involved here.
On one of the client machines (win98) they are running Wordperfect

client certs with godaddy ssl cert
I've read the client ssl cert section in the wiki and it talks about using a
self signed cert, if I am using a commercial cert, in this case godaddy, how
do I implement a self signed cert for the client side and have dovecot make
use of this? I know the mechanics of setting up the self signed ca, the
question is more what configuration changes do I need to make in dovecot to
handle both

anytime a mac user touches a folder or creates a new one, it gets restricted
to just their own use
This is a Debian 5 system with Samba 3.2.5, the mac's are all running OSX
