Hi, While testing the upgrade from 2.0.6 to 2.0.7 I found some kind of misbehaviour of inherit permissions. It was already known that the SGID bit on directories is only useable with "inherit permissions = yes". Most of my shares depend heavily on this (unix) feature. I've got a W98/Samba LAN running with a 3Com OfficeConnect LANModem for shared internet access. Periodically, like every 10 minutes, it dials out, due to a DNS request for the workgroup/domain (same) name. Any fix for this? Can I just put a dummy address in all the host files? This NT box has the following printers: HP5si, (4) HP4000, and a few HP4s. All of those printers have Jet Direct ports on them. Can anyone give a brief, english synopsis of how this works? I must be missing something obvious, or maybe there IS a need to have 2 similarly labelled config options. I may have a deficiency in understanding the procedure for ADS authentication with samba, but most of the server setup works so far. I have bound a Red Hat Enterprise 5 server to our windows domain, it shows up in DNS and ADS, I can ping it, but I can't get samba shares to be accessible to users, or even get the smbclient to return shares properly. wbinfo -g returns the domain groups
