Problems with samba under HPUX
Hi, we have installed the newest release of samba from HP for HPUX. It's based on samba 2.2.3a (B8725-1.0.8 HP number) We used the same config file and started the samba stuff and run into the following problems. 1) The machine was only reachable under one netbios alias. 2) Only some pc could connect (~15 out of 150), but those could also only see the toplevel of a share 3) The following

2 quest.: cups - samba and ACL under HPUX
Hi, I have tried to use cups and samba together. Everything works great, however I am not able to configure and/or setup samba correctly, that the clients are able to install the driver. To test everything I used a dedicated system installed a fresh SuSE 8.0 and compiled samba (2.2.4) and cups (1.1.14). I only userd a differnet prefix for samba. Everything else is default.

To summarize: I want to setup a print server, which allows the user to download the necessary files for new printers. Installed are (on top of suse 7.1) samba 2.2.6_pre2 and cups 1.1.15_1. Installed the printers,

Some problems with samba 2.0.7
Hi, we are using samba 2.0.7. on our HP file-server. For the NT users everything is ok, but we are not able to setup WIN95/98 computers to use the shares. All computers are within the same domain. Shares of NT-pc can be used and also shares from other linux boxe, but NOT from the HP. The global section is the same on the linux and HP machines. Any idea ? How can we check what is going wrong ? Win2k TS authentication probs / pw changing probs
Hi, We are having problems with clients changing their passwords from Win2k Terminal Servers against a Samba PDC. It works fine if the machine only has few users on it (ie when testing at 6pm after almost everyone is gone - I find it difficult to break). I'm guessing there is some sort of race condition or resource locking going on that prevents it happening properly. As I didn't

Can't transfer files larger than 2GB from hpux to Win2K...
Greetings, I run an automated process from cron that uploads a large file from my HP/UX server to a PC running Windows 2000 weekly. The process began to fail once the size of the uploaded file gre to over 2GB in size. I've upgraded the Samba 2.2 installation to Samba 3.0.10 but that hasn't fixed the problem. We are running NTFS filesystems on the Windows server. From what I

CVS woes under HPUX 10.20
<sigh> Ever since the -lsec/-lsecurity tests in configure were "fixed", post beta2, I cannot compile any version of Samba 2.x on HPUX 10.20. The only options set with configure are --prefix= and --with-mmap. The differences seem to be reversed settings for availability of getspnam, bigcrypt, getprpwnam, and set_auth_parameters (in config.cache) and for the related defines in

samba-3.0.2a hpux libnss_winbind
Hello all, did anyone get compiled samba-3.0.2a under HP-UX 11 with winbind enabled? It does not compile libnss_winbind. It gets stucked during compilation of nsswitch/winbind_nss_solaris.c. Any ideas?? It seems to be a problem of a newly added part to be solaris conform. Any help appreciated. Re: Which Samba (CIFS ?) For HPUX 11.00 ?
Hi Nick, This topic should be on samba@lists.samba.org - not technical. I'll give you a brief overview, and any followup send to me directly. HP-CIFS Server for 11.0 is based upon Samba 2.2.12. Support for 11.0 ends there - at 2.2.12. Go to: http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B8725AA If you want to continue on 11.0, HP posts 3.0.14a Opensource

[tftp-hpa] [patch] building on hpux and add CPPFLAGS
Hi, We just build tftp-hpa on out supported platforms, and I have a very small patch. On hpux, we have a sysexits.h that does not define EX_CONFIG. Also, we like to use CPPFLAGS to point to our include dirs, tftp-hpa doesn't use CPPFLAGS. This can be a little confusing, as the configure checks use CPPFLAGS, but the build itself does not. Issue on big filesystem on HPUX
We have one 200Gb filesystem on HP-UX 11.00/32bits. It's shared using samba 2.0.7. We have disable oplocks because one old 16bits exe on our client didn't run well with oplocks. Now we have users unable to read some files. It's a random issue as it's changing from user to user. the file is readable one day and not the next one. Rights seems not to be an issue. The problems appear
