name_query failed: Samba 2.0.3
I'm stumped on getting Samba to work again on our small network. I've
got one Windows 95 machine that started to refuse to talk to Samba last
week. I *was* running one of the 1.9.18 releases, but when it stopped
working, I figured I would delete the old release and do a clean
install of 2.0.3. I've done that, and used SWAT to configure the
smb.conf file (which can be seen below).

strange session failure on linux
Hi,
We're running an openssh server on a linux box here to give developers
access to our machines from outside the firewall. A number of us, using
various ssh clients (Mac, Windows and Linux) regularly experience
hung sessions. I'm hoping that someone can give me some insight into
what's happening here or, at least, some tips for characterizing the
problem well enough for it to get

discount <markdown in C>
I've written an implementation of Markdown in C, for people like me
who shout BAH! and wave their canes at modern programming languages.
(I needed a decent markup language for my website and weblog, and
didn't want to have to install any new programming languages on the
machine.)

constant mailbox rebuilding with dovecot 1.0.10
I've recently upgraded to 1.0.10 in hopes that this problem would go
away but no luck. I've got some users at my company with large
inboxes on maildir (say 22,000 messages). Their mailboxes are hosted
on nfs and dovecot is configured to do dotlocking. Still I see
messages like this continually in the logs (sometimes every hour or
so):
server dovecot: IMAP(user): dotlock

Printing from NT4 public=no
Hello,
Im using samba samba-1.9.18p4 on solaris 2.6.
Every works fine with Win95. (browsing, file service printing)
With NT file service and browsing are OK.
I was wondering if its possible to print from Windows NT4 SP3

The printing fail silently on the NT machines.

Win7 x64 postscript printer -> samba print Apple Laserwriter not available
Hi folks.
I've got a system where my WinXP (they still work well) workstations have a
virtual printer installed on them.
This virtual printer uses Apple Colour Laserwriter Postscript drivers to
generate PS files which are then printed to a linux server where Samba passes
the file to one of my scripts which then parses the file, extracts data,
coverts the PS to PDF and then inserts the

Concurrent logon problem...
Hi you all,
We are currently setting up a corporate wide file server using Samba
2.0.6 on a RedHat Linux Alpha platform. We only have Win98 clients, and
the Samba server is doing net logons (no password encryption) and master
browsing for the workgroup. The problem we have is that NMDB dies when a
logon occurs with a username which is already logged. After that, Win98
freezes when you try to log

Bug in out-of-bounds assignment of list object to expression() vector
There seems to be a bug in out-of-bounds assignment of list objects to an
expression() vector. Tested on release and devel. (Many thanks to folks
over at Mastodon for the help narrowing down this bug)
When assigning a list into an existing index, it correctly errors on
incompatible type, and the expression vector is unchanged:
```
x <- expression(a,b,c)
x[[3]] <- list() # Error
Appletalk printing through Samba
Hi,
I've really tried a lot of things but can't work it out....
I've got a Apple Laserwriter 630 working through appletalk/netatalk. Using
lp/lpr I'm able to print, no problem.
However, when using samba through Windows ME, the printer will print my
pages but also throws out an additional blank page and a page with:
