No, we can use that, because I want to use the com32 module, in this case I want to use the chain.c32 to boot to Winpe. Samba can't resolv password
Hello, I finally switched to the samba-1.9.18p4, and got all my files on this server. But now I have a big problem, all our NT machines can't access the server. They tell wrong user or password. In the debugging mode I see, that the NT machines come to the server and find the right user, then they tell me: lp_file_list_changed() file /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf ->

2.3.1 Replication is throwing scary errors
Hey all, almost 48h ago I upgraded both my instances to 2.3.1 again to see if the new patches would fix the replication issues for me. So far, the result is: great. I haven't been able to provoke any kind of I/O stall or persisting queued/failed resync requests in my replication setup. Newly added users are replicated instantly upon the first received mails and the home directory gets

How to compile Rsync with acl support on Cygwin
Problem: ------- For sometime now, I have wanted to be able to rsync ACLs of files on windows machines to a Linux server. I never saw anyone post anything about how to make it work. I tried, but I was never able to compile on Cygwin when I patched the source with the acls.diff patch. ./configure would error out after displaying: Checking whether to support ACLS... checking for

Samba 2.0.6pre1 released
I've just released a snapshot of 2.0.6 in the alpha directory on samba.org. This is intended for testing to make sure some of the recent changes work well on a wider range of sites. I have also built a RedHat Linux 6.X RPM and put it in the same dircetory. If you are not running a mission critical site then we would appreciate feedback on this snapshot. If you have reported a bug in Samba

Experiences with WINS-Migration NT -> Samba ?
Hi all, I'd like to replace an old NT-wins server by a linux box with samba and I'm wondering how long it will take for the wins-table on the linux machine to get filled up from scatch (the size of the net is of order 1000 machines). Does anyone have *real-life* data/experiences of such a migration ? Any tipps or hints ? Is there a way/tool to convert the (Windows) Wins-DB into the

2.3.1 Replication is throwing scary errors
Hey all, I've been affected by these replication issues too and finally downgraded back to 2.2.35 since some newly created virtual domains/mailboxes weren't replicated *at all* due to the bug(s). My setup is more like a master-slave, where I only have a rather small virtual machine as the slave host, which is also only MX 20. The idea was to replicate all mails through dovecot and

Logon to SAMBA
Hi, I have installed the samba-1.9.17p3 on our Solaris 2.5.1 (named 'dor-ent1') and Linux (named 'iserver'). They work when I test out 'smbclient -L dor-ent1' from Linux machine and vice-versa. I also can map the directories on 'dor-ent1' or 'iserver' to my win95 machine using: 'net use * \\dor-ent1\tmp'.

NT4 User Unable to log in to Samba 1.9.17p5
I've got a user here that is unable to connect to any of the Samba shares that are available -- in fact, she doesn't even get past the username / password validation step. The message that Samba puts into the logs is as follows : NT Password did not match ! Defaulting to Lanman To narrow down the problem, I logged onto her machine as myself (from the same domain also) and then got onto

Problems with a Win98 client attached to a Linux samba server via ISDN-PPP

dovecot sha512-crypt database storage
Hello, I've got dovecot authenticating to a MySQL database. I've got a field varchar(128) called password. Whenever I create a password I use doveadm pw as in: doveadm pw -s sha512-crypt now i'd like to get MySQL to make a dovecot-specific password. My goal is to eventually have roundcube's password plugin working with this MySQL database to change the password. Thanks. Dave.

doveadm: problem listing shared mailboxes using a wildcard
I'm setting up a dovecot server with private and shared namespaces. My test setup has these mailboxes: # /bin/doveadm mailbox list -u fdl01 at spike.test INBOX/sub01 shared shared/sammel01 at spike.test shared/sammel02 at spike.test INBOX In order to do some post-login scripting foo I'd like to get a list of shared mailboxes the user is currently subscribed to.
