newby question: Is there a way to direct streams to a mount point?
Is there a way to direct icecast to associate a stream from a particular source to a designated mount point? I've got two different streams I'm encoding that I'd like to make available on the same server. Currently, I have one going to /icy_0 and the other to /icy_1. That's okay for the moment, but if either the server or the two encoders reboot, the streams might reconnect in

liveice/lame problem
I've set up Liveice on a Yellowdog Linux laptop (YDL 2.0). I'm trying to stream to an icecast server on another YDL 2.0 system. Streaming seems to be fine, but encoding is pure garbage. When I listen to the stream, it basically sounds like white noise. The intesity of the hum depends on the strength of the sound being encoded, though. If I stop playing the CD, it drops to a gentle

Real to MP3
How can I convert Real audio files (.rm) to MP3 files? I know I've done it before, but I can't get WinAmp to output to the NullSoft MP3 Output Plug-In, which is how I think I did it last time. The file I want to convert just doesn't seem to play with that output selected. I get the same result with teh Lame MP3 Writer plug-in. I use the Tara Audio Video Plugin to read Real media

lame question.
I think the question is, how do you change /icy_0 to /mystreamname, or at least /mystreamname_0. I'm guessing it would have to be somewhere in the source? I'd love to have some kind of control over stream names, such as having a particular mount point for a stream from a certain IP address. I have some macs streaming using MacAmp, and they have no way to specify mount point.

R on os390
G'day R friends, I didn't get any replies on the main list so I thought I'd try with the experts. I was wondering if anyone's ported R to os390. If so, are the vsize and nsize limits the same as other platforms? I could really annoy those SAS guys then. thanks, John Strumila john.strumila@team.telstra.com

Latest Samba Disto for Os390/Unix ?
HI,I would be interested if there is a release of Samba for Os390/Unix later that 1.9. (I have tried downloading the 'samba-latest.tar.gz' file from the mirror site, but as I cannot unzip/untar it,due to not having the 'gzip' program !). Therfore I am not sure how compatible it may or may not be with my Os390/Uss platform. Thanks for any help received in advance. John.

file access problems
we're testing a new NFS product for our mainframe system (Conectivitiy Systems TCP/IP for VSE) and have successfully mapped a virtual drive to our unix system (AIX 4.2). We use Samba (v.1.9.18p2) to share files with the Windows 95 and Windows NT systems in the building. We have attempted to map the "mapped" drive from the mainframe via Samba. We're able to see files in the

Transfer rate on NT/XP/2000 with service pack 6a
Hi SAMBA, This is not quite a remark on SAMBA, more a report of a problem that is not related to SAMBA. However it could be of concern to your developers team. At our company we recently (last week) installed two new fileservers. The next thing we got was a very strange effect. The configuration: - Two fileservers, running (i believe) Windows 2000, with service pack 6A and included all service

Possible big/small endian problem Samba 2.2.2 and 2.2.3a
Hi We are running Samba on an IBM zSeries mainframe on Linux kernel 2.2.16 and are running into problems when using winbindd and security=domain. We are doing a proof of concept using opensource and I really hope we can pull it off! Before I raise a bug report, I would appreciate it if someone can tell me if this is a known problem. I have not found anything on it yet. We have winbindd set up
