I am a little confused. In the smb.conf man page under the "name resolve order" section, it states that setting "name resolve order = wins" will be ignored if the "wins server" parameter is not set. Elsewhere in the man page it states that if you set "wins support = yes" then you cannot set the wins server parameter. Does this mean that a machine that is

I've been running Samba & Squid on a RH linux server for years. I'm currently running: kernel - 2.4.9-31 squid - 2.4STABLE-6 /home - 100 GB Reiserfs partition I just upgraded samba from 2.0.10 to 2.2.5 this morning. Hi, As we are moving away from an NT based enviroment to SAMBA we are looking for a managed virus scanner for our desktops. Managed means: 1. Remote deployment 2. Updates from a local repository 3. Notification and reporting. The existing solutions (Symantec, TrendMicro, Mcafee) assume that you have an NT server. I would much rather have a Linux/Samba based managment console. Any ideas/leads?
