Samba & Network Neighborhood
Hello! I am puzzled here - I have two Samba systems ; one on each different network that I am working with. One of them allows local Windoze 95 machines to view the server via network Neighborhood; the other does not. In both networks, I am able to mount shares. I have checked options; as many as I could think of, but no luck. I am stumped. Both of them are configured as NT domain

Samba DMB "loses" machines in the Network Neighborhood
I have a long running problem with my configuration of Samba as a domain master browser. After nmbd comes up, all the machines on the network are viewable in the Network Neighborhood as they should be. But about half an hour later, Samba seems to lose track of several machines; they no longer appear in NN or /var/cache/samba/browse.dat. I recently upgraded to a packaged version 3.0.20b (for

Is it possible to map shares via Network Neighborhood?
We're running Samba 2.2.2 over an NT network. Our clients use Win95 (for the time being) and I wondered how we config Samba so they can map the shares using network neighborhood. We can map fine through MS-DOS, but when I try, for example, to map E drive to \\nfssrv\ads share via network neighborhood (where we ARE able to see the shares), it says E: is already connected to . Do you want

Servers disappear from Network neighborhood
I am using Samba-PDC-LDAP with samba-3.0.20b-1. On my file servers I am using samba-3.0.10-1.4. I'm not sure exactly what is happening but every couple of weeks the file servers disappear form network neighborhood. I checked browstat on my Windows system and it points to my PDC as the master browser and I checked the wins.dat file on my PDC and the systems were there. I did not check

Network neighborhood problems
I have setup a small office of 6 win95/98 workstations and a Samba share (SuSE, Samba 2.0.6) on a P90 with 32MB of RAM and 2, 2GB HD?s. File sharing and PDC functions work perfectly (better than any NT machine). However, I cannot get the samba computer to show up in network neighborhood. I set the netbios name to SAMBA and wins = yes. When I go to start => run and type <\\samba>, the

After starting up SMBD/NMBD I could see the remote SAMBA system and the file and printer shares displayed as icons in the NT 4.0 Network Neighborhood Explorer file system. Right clicking and displaying the menu over the highlighted

Samba4 DC is not visible in network neighborhood
Greetings, All! Is there at last a solution? I've only found questions, in the list, and on the network. The issue is that DC built on Samba4 does not report to network browsers neither it is participating in election to become browser itself. Consequently, it is not visible in the neighborhood neither on Windows, nor on Linux. I've managed to force a second Linux host (member server)

Hiding shares in Network Neighborhood?
Hi all - I'll be the first to admit I don't know a lot about Windows networking, but I've managed to get samba (latest version) up and running and even have a cool netlogon script :) My config has shares for [homes] and [netlogon] and [foobar] (a test). When I look around in Network Neighborhood it lists homes, netlogon, foobar, and philip (my username). Is there some way to make
