hello; I've got a PC running Windows95 trying to connect to a HPUX box running 10.20. The share it connects to works fine under windows NT, but for windows 95 you do not get prompted for a username to connect to. It will come back with invalid password. thanks much for your help. Ike Leong 12/5/97

Hi all, Reading through ENCRYPTION.txt it says to do the following: cat /etc/passwd | mksmbpasswd.sh >/usr/local/samba/private/smbpasswd However, on my Samba-2.05a install (onto RH 6.0), /usr/local/samba doesn't exist. this module doesn't seem to want to work on anything but a root ubuntu filesystem. It won't work on any external drives or secondary drives just the main one. Hello, Whenever I reatart samba on my bsd or my linux machines windows 98 network neighborhood looses either machine, I've got samba set up as a wins server, and the 98 machine pointing to it, but this doesn't help. The 98 machine can see it's own shares, but not the samba server, any ideas? I'm running 98, freebsd 3.4 release, slackware linux 7.0 and samba 2.05 and 2.06. Thanks.
