Tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw
Can anyone help me? I have Samba 2.0.5a running on SuSE Linux 6.0 (2.0.36) and Windows NT Server 4.0 SP4 (PDC). When I try to do a "smbclient -L MYUNIX" (according to the trouble shooting guide) I get the following message: Addes interface ip=195.90.254.xxx bcast=195.90.254.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Password: Domain=[MYDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.5a] tree connect failed: ERRSRV

When I'm doing: smbclient -L MYLINUX -U MYUSER I get the following message: Added interface ip=195.90.254.xxx broadcast=295.90.254.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Password: <enter password for myuser> Domain=[MYDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.5a] Tree connect failed: ERRSRV -

timezones not properly reflected on timestamps of files
I have read the documentation, performed the diagnostic tests, checked the archives, so if the answer is there, please accept my apologies in advance and simply direct me. I am running redhat Linux 2.0.3 and using smbmount to mount several directories from NT3.51 servers which are distributed gloablly in different timezones. Once mounted the files all have local timestamps which makes syncing

smbclient tar restore problem (linkflag) from tape-drive
Greetings, I am currently having a problem using smbclient (Samba v2.05a) running on Solaris 2.5.1 to restore a tar file from a tape drive onto a Win NT share. smbclient works successfully when using a tar file on disk, but is skipping the tar file (created by a third party) on the tape drive. The command used is as follows: smbclient //celeborn/test -U peter -T x /dev/rmt/0 The problem

[PATCH] Support symlinks in scp of openssh 2
I'm fond of the "-a" (archive) option of cp, and I'm a heavy user of scp, so I guess it's inevitable that I would eventually add support for "-a" to scp. :-) Actually, it's a "-L" flag for preserving symlinks, and a "-a" flag that is shorthand for "-Lpr". Please let me know if I'm not doing this right.... I made a great

Long file name support for smbclient

Oplocks with concurrent access from same client
I am observing the following behaviour with samba-2.2.12 (Yes, I know, it's old) and MS-Access XP on a Win2K box: The client opens a .mdb file and gets a level2 oplock. Then it opens the .mdb file again and loses the oplock (at least I assume it does: The server sends an SMBlockingX request to the client and waits for another SMBlockingX request from the client before sending the Reply to

[Fwd: print queue problem]
William, Thanks for your reply. I'am running SuSe Linux 6.0 with samba version 1.9.18p10. I have installed my HP cdeskjet printer with YAST (SuSe) as a samba printer. SuSe use the apsfilter as print filter. I have a file /etc/apsfilterrc.cdeskjet. In this file there is a line: REMOTE_PRINTER="/usr/bin/samba_print //kinderen/hp -U kinderen -N -P" where kinderen= win98 client on

Probably broken getaddrinfo() on Solaris x86.
Hi, I discovered a strange problem with the latest version (2.9.9p2) and previous versions of OpenSSH when using portforwarding und Solaris 8 x86. It seems like the getaddrinfo() function on Solaris 8 x86 is somehow broken, instead of binding a port to 127.0.0.1, OpenSSH tried to bind it to 1.0.0.127 (1.0.0.127 was the ai->ai_addr returned by getaddrinfo() in channel.c). I could not

[LLVMdev] Feedback required on proper dllexport/import implementation
Hi Nico, Reid, and Anton, I missed the discussion when I implemented dllexport/dllimport for our local tree. I essentially implemented your approach#1. I was trying to avoid the various external_linkage + some_attribute approaches because it seems that external_linkage would imply the external linkage without the dllimport/dllexport semantics, and there may be existing compiler codes that rely on

smbclient and large file support
smbclient (and smbtar) in version 2.2.7a (and prior) has problems with large files (> 4GB). The following patch (against 2.2.7a) fixes all known problems with this. This code has been checked into the CVS tree in all branches as well. -- ====================================================================== Herb Lewis Silicon Graphics Networking Engineer

Asterisk and InterTel Axxess system?
Hi all, My office recently purchased an InterTel Axxess system with the IPRC card for VoIP. To our suprise, this card allows the InterTel endpoints and MGCP endpoints to work, but not SIP clients. I was really expecting to get a SIP softphone working with this setup, but that appears to require our vendor to sell us a SIP gateway and licenses at a not yet determined price. With this

Embedding samba...
Hi All, I am working on a port of Samba to the uClinux/ColdFire system. This is a port of Linux running on the Motorola ColdFire processors. These processors have no MMU, so no virtual memory. It also means that there is no true fork() call, only a vfork() type primitive is supported. Other than this the fact that there is no MMU is pretty transparent applications, it looks like any other Linux

How to start smb server when reboot?
Hi, I installed Samba 2.0.3 on Linux 2.2.5. Every time I reboot system I found the smb has not been started. But in the directory /etc/rc.d, the file "smb" exists. When I run "smb restart",after a while, the samba server is ok. I wonder why the samba server is not up when system reboot. Thanks a lot. Followed is the content of the file "smb": #! /bin/sh ..
