Duplicate PV on HW RAID?
Hello, My "hardware" (?) RAID system seems to work but says "duplicate PV" while booting, I don't think I was reading them before. Any clues will be appreciated. >From what I recall: 1) RAID 1 was setup (using firmware setup program) on a machine with Intel S3200 SHV Server Board. 2) Installed Centos 5.1, default LVM style. Anaconda saw a single 500GB disk so I assumed

[mntent]: line x in /etc/fstab is bad
Hi ! I'm having trouble trying to mount a win2k share from my linux box with the mount command. My linux box is a RH 7.2 and samba version is 2.2.4. It is part of the windows domain 'VALBONE' and the smb.conf option "winbind use default domain" is set to yes. So when the user slautier log into the machine, it does it without specifying the domain name. slautier is a member

SMB gurus: please help - I am desperate.
I apologize up front for re-posting this, but I need to find a solution to this problem. I have been having hard time to believe that there isn't one person among the SMB gurus that doesn't know how a W2K client connects to an SMB server. So, if you happen to know even the slightest hint to this baffling problem, I would be forever grateful. OK. Here goes (original subject line was:

mixing Windows ACL and POSIX ACL shares on one server?
Matthias, I used setfacl to set POSIX and Ad ACLS. Windows users who are in the appropriate group can manage perms for both. Bug#599434: xen-utils-4.0: create.dtd is missing
Package: xen-utils-4.0 Version: 4.0.1-1 The Python code in /usr/lib/xen-4.0/lib/python/xen/xm/xenapi_create.py tries to validate an XML configuration against a missing "create.dtd" DTD file. The code expects at SHAREDIR/xen/create.dtd (SHAREDIR is "/usr/share" according to /usr/lib/xen-4.0/lib/python/xen/util/path.py). In the Xen source distribution the missing file can be

Bug#805508: [PATCH] tools: allow configure time choice of libexec subdirectory.
Currently we hardcode various paths such as $libexec/xen/{bin,boot}, however some downstreams (notably Debian) would like instead to install things into $libexec/xen-X.Y/{bin,boot} as part of allowing multiple versions of the tools packages to be installed. Since this currently involves patching configure its a bit fiddly, provide a configure option for the leaf dir instead, name it

Ah yes, those. Replace the rpm -Uvh with yum update and it should resolve the dependencies for you. If that fails, just pass all of those deps (in "") to yum install. Sorry about that! Why does a W2K (pro) client do more than it is asked to do?
Desperate to find out why connecting to a samba share(on an AIX server) from W2K is so slow, I tried connecting to the same share from a Linux box, using smbclient: smbclient \\\\aixserver\\sharedir$ -U lynn The results were amazing. The connection was so MUCH FASTER then connecting from a W2K (pro) workstation: \\aixserver\sharedir$ (in the Start|Run edit box) When I examined the samba log

pdbedit not working as documented
I have am hitting a wall with pdbedit, as shown below. Any workarounds would be greatly appreciated. I am encountering the inability to change any users (profile) SID on Samba 3.x for Linux and BSD, which causes the accounts to no longer recognize their local Samba 2 profiles once they join Samba 3 domain. If I add a new user and pdbedit -a user -U SID it ignores the -U. The old profiles appear
