Name Resolve Order?
I am a little confused. In the smb.conf man page under the "name resolve order" section, it states that setting "name resolve order = wins" will be ignored if the "wins server" parameter is not set. Elsewhere in the man page it states that if you set "wins support = yes" then you cannot set the wins server parameter. Does this mean that a machine that is

Virus scanner not scanning files on samba share
Right now, on our NT servers, I scan the users' directories nightly for viruses. I've set up samba 2.05a on a linux server (rh 6.1). I've moved a couple of users over for testing. Everything seems to be working great. However, I cannot get our virus scanner (Dr Solomon) to scan files on the samba shares. It recognizes the share, recognizes the files, but reports 0 out of nnn were

boot failing with large cd's?
Hi, I am not sure if this is an isolinux problem or an mkisofs problem. I have been using isolinux for a year now without any problems. This week, it began to fail. The only difference is that the CD has a few more files on it than before (1026 files, 327 MB). mkisofs was creating the image alphabetically, and the isolinux directory was at the very end. I then tried using the -sort parameter

Login script for Win95 machines
On my Samba server I created a directory called 'netlogon' and I put a batch file in there called 'login.bat'. Also did I create a share called 'netlogon' which points to the 'netlogon' directory. I set up samba to use a login script (login script=netlogon/login.bat). Strange enough it does not seem to be executed when Win95 clients logon. If I double-click the

It is amazing: i read it and in my head a few questions start to go round. I read 1 page more and the questions are answered. It is not good that the other documentation pages of the howto

This test is performed in the paper but the methodology is not explained and any reference is reported. Does anyone know where I can find references to this test and if it is

IPSec tunnel and routing
Hello. I wonder how just correct couple of spdadd commands like spdadd 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.2.0/24 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/10.1.0.1-10.2.0.1/require; spdadd 192.168.2.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 any -P in ipsec esp/tunnel/10.2.0.1-10.1.0.1/require; makes _routing_ of packets from 192.168.1/24 into 192.168.2/24.
