How to do goodness-of-fit diagnosis and model checking for rlm in R?
Hi all,
I am reading the MASS book but it doesn't give examples about the diagnosis
and model checking for rlm...
My data is highly non-Gaussian so I am using rlm instead of lm.
My questions are:
0. Are goodness-of-fit and model-checking using rlm completely the same as
usual regression?

Please give me some pointers about how to do goodness-of-fit and

Failing tests 5 and 6 in DIAGNOSIS.txt?
Hi,
While going through DIAGNOSIS.txt on my samba 2.2.2 server, I came across

name_query failed to find name *
This appears to be a partial failure?

Stuck with Test 3 of Diagnosis... Please Help..
Hello everybody,
I need your advice with the following:
I've just installed RedHat Linux 6.1, and configured Samba 2.0.5a.
This is not my first time installing samba; I've installed it several times
before, always on Linux, so I decided to configure it out of the box, so my
scenario is:
+ On the Linux side, I can mount a NT share using smbmount, and copy files.
No problems.

Diagnosis Tests - Failed #5
I'm working on the first of a few Samba machines for our network.
It's running RedHat 6.2 and Samba 2.0.7.
On the NT 4.0 side of things I can see the machine (with the correct name)
if I do NET VIEW or look in the Network Neighborhood. However, when I do
"NET VIEW \\SambaServer" I get an Error 5 Access Denied. (Test 8)
So I started on the diagnosis and got to Item 5.

help after DIAGNOSIS.txt
Dear Samba Guru's...
I have a Samba server (under RedHat Linux) that is working for my [home]
and [tmp] directories, but won't work for another directory that I've
added. I've checked the syntax and I've gone through all the steps in
DIAGNOSIS.txt.
Everything passes the tests until I get to step 9 on the particular
directory that won't attach (/home/tyvekkj). I can

Red Hat configuration troubles
Greetings
I'm running Red Hat 6.2. Both smbd and nmbd are up
and running. I can see my Linux box from PCs in my
LAN. Problem is, I can't access them.
I tried the troubleshooting guide found at
http://us2.samba.org/samba/docs/DIAGNOSIS.html,
and got as far as the second step. When I do
"smbclient -L myserver," I get the following error
message:

Dear,
I wanna to compare AUC generated by two distribution models using the same
sample.
The AUC for model 1 consists of two columns, column A for 0/1 and column B
for probability, eahc with the same row number of 3000.
The AUC for model 2 consists of two columns, column A for 0/1 and column B

Request comments on missing data diagnosis code
Greetings,
The attached code is my preliminary attempt to create a comprehensive missing data diagnostic package. I would greatly appreciate any constructive feedback about the code and encourage others to use it if they feel it is helpful. One warning might be in order - I have tested the mcar test only superficially. There might be a few other bugs but it mostly works for my initial

R CMD check: better diagnosis for non-ASCII characters
[Env: R 2.15.1, Win Xp]
Suggestion:
Could the R script that checks for non-ASCII characters in R CMD check
not give either:
(a) a pointer to tools:::showNonASCIIfile, as in,
try running tools:::showNonASCIIfile("Battig.Rd")
or,
(b) perhaps more useful, the result of tools:::showNonASCIIfile(file.Rd)
on the offending file(s).
I'm frequently bitten by this in preparing .Rd files

Power failure diagnosis?
This morning between 07:10 or so and 08:10 I discovered that my PC had
shut itself off. I thought it was due to a power failure becuase I
never turn it off without a good reason, and it had been running (and
playing sounds) until it wasn't. My roommate/landlord tells me that
the only anomaly he observed was that our router had lost its internet
connection (via a cable modem, which was still
