bark_noise
I am experiencing some difficulties with vorbis on my LX164 alpha. Specifically, in bark_noise (psy.c) I see the following behaviour on the first pass through the function: val=-3.4e38 del=1 noise[0]+=val*del noise[1]-=val*del norm[0]+=del norm[1]-=del del=1 noise[1]-=val*del <== here is the problem At this point, noise[1]==3.4e38. We are trying to add another 3.4e38 to it and this is

Longitudinal data
Hi, I'm analyzing a longitudinal data set with 387 cows were observed in 63 days divided into 6 groups, and every 30 days was found to produce milk. Does not aim to model the time using regression. Only compare the groups differ in terms of milk production. There are many missing observations. Because the data are correlated I used the SAS program: proc mixed data=univar

Problem with 1.9.18p1 and password server
In version 1.9.17.p2, a password server line in smb.conf could contain multiple server entries and if a username/password combination failed to validate on one server it would try against the next one until it got a match. Even if the account existed on the first server that was tried, and the password failed, then the subsequent server would be tried. We liked this feature as we have users on

Strange time stamp behaviour
We're having this strange problem with Samba and I have not been able to pinpoint the problem in any way. I'm hoping someone has come across a similar problem and has a workaround or fix. Some files opened on a Samba mounted volume from MS Developer Studio, keep wanting to get reloaded. For some reason, MS Dev Studio keeps thinking that a file it just opened was subsequently modified.

DOS style 8.3 filename mangling issues??!
Okay, I've run through all of the tests in the DIAGNOSE, which my 1.9.18p1 SAMBA server (and NT4SP3/W95 clients) pass with flying colours. server box: Linux 2.0.33, gcc 2.7.2.2, libc 5.4.33, shadow, quota on (usr+grp), and my smb.conf is summarised (by testparm output) below: Problem is this: with respect to programs not long filename-aware/compliant, users cannot "double-click" on

2.2.7a slowness on AIX 5.1-ML03
I have an open PMR with IBM regarding a slowness issue when more than 450 smbds are trying to login and download roaming profiles. The system is a 6H1 with 6 RS64-III 668MHz cpus and 6 GB memory w/Gb ethernet. We have over 10,000 student accounts with roaming profiles and 800 XP-SP1 workstations for them to choose from. I've compiled 2.2.7a in 64 bit and 32 bit modes. Run it on both the 32

Anybody want EBCDIC Support for Samba 1.9.18?
We've ported samba 1.9.18p1 to OS/390 Unix (nee MVS), and it seems to be very much in demand among the mainframe folks. We'd like to integrate our changes back into the mainline development stream. Our changes consist entirely of patches to ensure that the code works on an EBCDIC system, as well as a new facility that allows for ASCII/EBCDIC data conversion on the fly for files

Users Become Nobody
Hello We recently upgraded samba on our UNIX to version 1.9.18p1 partly because sometimes users would become NOBODY rather than their username and this was screwing up the permissions of the files they save or try to read. But this version is doing it too. It seems to be random. Every so often Ill run smbstatus and have a look and a handfull of users are logged on as NOBODY. These clients are

R-1.0.0 is released
I've rolled up R-1.0.0.tgz a short while ago. You can get it from ftp://cvs.r-project.org/pub/CRAN/src/base/R-1.0.0.tgz or http://cvs.r-project.org/pub/CRAN/src/base/R-1.0.0.tgz or wait for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site near you within a day or two. It should get to the CRAN master site within a few hours. There's also a version split in three for floppies if you prefer that.
