Diagnosis Test Pass, But...
Here's my setup: Caldera Open Linux Lite (kernel 2.0.29) Samba 2.0.4a Windows Domain (Two Windows NT 4.0 Servers -- one PDC, one BDC -- and numerous Windows NT 4.0 Workstations) I can see my Linux box in Network Neighborhood on my Windows NT boxes. I can open the Linux box and see the top level shares available. When I try to open a share I see one or two anonymous folders. Anyone

RE: ACI appraisal program "freezes" when accessing SAMBA shares
Hi Brian, I can't help you with your ACI problem, but if you think ACI is buggy, try a software called Appraiser's Toolbox/Clickforms by Bradford Technologies. I've actually used ACI in the past and was very happy with it. I am actually getting ready order it to replace Clickforms. Have you really had that many problems? FYI, I demo'd Alamode, which is supposed to be the

NT_STATUS question
Hi all Got a couple of errors in the logs wondering what they mean??? Google does not come up with too much on these NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_FILE, NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION, NT_STATUS_INVALID_LEVEL and NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND. Four clips illustrating the above are below... I have am wondering how I sort this out. I am particularly worried about the NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_FILE. All the

unix_convert cause of windows freeze?
Hello, I've got an application, ACI Rapid Research for Windows, which is causing me a ton of problems under SAMBA. When the program goes to create its own list of valid files to work from, it ends up calling unix_convert on each file in the directory. The problem is that unix_convert then goes and calls name_map_mangle() twice for every file in the directory -- and I've got 3025 files.

problem setting up dfs
Hi, I'm trying to set up msdfs on FreeBSD 4.10 with samba 3.08. The clients I use are WinXp (sp1) and the desktop browser on RedHat ES3. Problems described beneath are identical for both clients. I tried to follow the howto as precisely as possible to not into problems, however, I did... In /export/dfsroot I made a link msdfs:strsvr01\part0 . I made sure everything is in lower case.

Name mangling bug: was samba bug?
Hi James, this sounds familiar - I believe I looked at a wire trace, and windows is dropping the trailing dots BEFORE it sends the request over the wire. so samba never sees the name foo..., thus does not create it.

explorer freezes on right-clicking .exe's
I'm using samba 2.1 pre-alpha. When I right click an .exe file on the most shares, explorer freezes, and must be killed to recover. The problem doesn't show up on the home shares, but appears on any other shares I create. I've experienced this problem on many different workstations. Looking at the logs, it seems to be a problem with oplocks; the part of the log that seems to apply is

Detectar outliers en un gráfico de dispersión

Help requested for Aeris Dive Computer interface
Hi, I'm attempting to run the Aeris Dive Computer interface (ACI V2.x) using WINE under Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jakalope release on an ASUS 1000HE netbook. However, it doesn't seem to be working very well. the install process seemed to work fine. It successfully created an icon under the WINE application for the interface. On startup of ACI, it says that it cannot read the previous dive

[LLVMdev] Do all user-written passes have to be run through a PassManager object (called from outside the LLVM infrastructure)?
I have written several passes that have no pre-requisites for any previous LLVM native passes prior to my own. For those passes, I have verified that at least the following two approaches are equivalent in terms of executing those self-written passes and getting the correct results: #if METHOD_1 PassManager PM;

OpenLDAP - building from src rpm fails (internal compiler error)
I'm trying to enable ACI in openldap by: 1) Install the source rpm (rpm -ivh http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/4/os/SRPMS/openldap-2.2.13-2.src.rpm) 2) Modify the spec file to include '--enable-aci' in the appropriate locations. I have even tried with the original (no aci) spec file. 3) Running 'rpmbuild -bb openldap.spec, which fails with the following output: <snip>

smbldap-passwd does not update samba password
I have never heard of ACI before and I really do not know what it is. In the other hand, what does this have do to with the passwords in Samba? Obviously, there are many things I do not know about LDAP and Samba but I have to manage it.... Re: +AFs-Asterisk-Users+AF0- RE: +AFs-Asterisk-Users+AF0- Multi-line, multi-registration phones
Here is an example of a couple of macros that help me where I have a SOHO with a home phone line and a work phone line. If I pick up line 2 my work line I would prefer the call I make to go out my office phone line same with if I pick up line 1 my home phone line I would prefer it go out my home line but want it to roll if needed. So with this little macro it is possible for that to happen.

Status of Samba/ZFS integration
I''ve tried to set up a SAMBA file server that acts completely identical with a Microsoft Windows 2000 or 2003 one. First of all, the problem with the ACI ordering is simple: The Microsoft ACI specification imposes that the DENY ACIs are put on top. It can be solved with a simple chmod. Problem no.2 the Samba NFSv4 ACL module doesn''t interpret owner@, group@, everyone at . While

Running Sweave directly from Windows command line
Hello everybody out there using R, When I try to run the command "R CMD Sweave file.Rnw" (R Version 2.11.1) on the command line of Windows 7, an error message tells me that the command "sh" is not known. I suppose that R is trying to use a shell script, which can't be interpreted using Windows. However, running Sweave from the R command prompt works fine. Anyway, under

Synchronizing to multiple locations on a single destination serve r
Hi all. This has been bugging me for quite some time and I haven't found a solution yet. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with similar scenarios or/and can tell me how this process can be optimized. We use rsync to synchronize JAR libraries on our remote server. The catch here is, that the libraries must go in multiple locations (and not all the locations have all the
